I made Jam squares using marmalade. The recipe i used was given to me by this elderly lady whose mother made this recipe during WWWII so it doesnt use a lot of ingrédients. Good stuff. One of my favorite comfort foods. The pic below shows the actual dessert before cutting into squares.

^ I think that would be good - they'd soften a bit.
I baked two pans of apple crisp squares - usually just make apple crisp, but found this recipe to try so you can cut it into bars. Wasn't sure if it would work, but it did - and they are delish.
This is the recipe - Apple Streusel Bars - I didn't use the caramel sauce, and they sure don't need it. Needed more baking time than recipe says, at least 45 mins. I also just left them in the pan, didn't line it, and they come out fine when baked and cooled.

Here is the recipe for Jam Squares
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2/3 cup margarine or shortening
Mix all the above together until crumbly. Add 2 eggs (i used 3 eggs to get a more cakey consistancy) and mix. Place more than half into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Spread your choice of jam or any kind of fresh fruit. Then spread rest of mixture on top. Bake at 350F for 20-25 minutes or until golden Brown. The consistancy of the dough dépends on how many eggs you use. 2 eggs gives you a more crumbly consistency; 3 eggs gives a more cakey consistency. Enjoy!
