Oh my goodness! I might have to ban myself from this section. I'm trying to lose a couple extra Christmas pounds and all these pictures are definitely not helping as I want one of everything!!! LOL

LOL. I haven't had an appetite in years, literally. I've finally found somethings I like to eat again. It's nice. But now, watch out. My pants might be tight soon.

Omg. I have gotten so many good ideas for things to bake from this thread! lol. I really should ban myself from it as well since I love to bake AND i love to eat what I bake.
Today is homemade granola bar recipe #2: Banana-cranberry-pecan bars.
I made a different batch last week (raisins and cranberries) that used a different base than recipe #2 and much to my surprise, the kids LOVED them. I'm surprised because I started with the healthiest recipe I could find and to be honest, I didn't think the little monkeys would eat 'em. They think the store bought chocolate chip marshmallow ones are good...lol...so you could see what I was up against. Anyhoo--they gobbled 'em up. Go figure.
Waiting for batch #2 to cool down....mmm....yum....then a sample...(or maybe 2)."Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

Today i made 4 loaves of bread, and 32 cinnamon buns for my grandsons school (with his help of coarse). I picked him up at school at 11:30. He had told his teacher how he was making buns with his grandma today and he was going to bring them tomorrow to share. His teacher said he was so excited. I had my bread done by then, so he poured all the flour salt and so on in the bowl. He cracked the eggs, picked out all the shell he got in the bowl (LOL) mixed it and poured the egg into the mixing bowl. I put the bowl onto the mixer and asked him to turn it on to number 1. He did that, for about 1- seconds, then he cranked it up to 10...OMG... flour everywhere. His little face was white. I almost peed myself I was laughing so hard. When all was said and done, everything cleaned up, he sat there on a stool and stuffed his face with what he calls grandma's hot bread (he likes the bread warm from the oven). He went home with all his buns to share with his class tomorrow and a big smile on his face.

omg. everything looks and sounds so tasty! I'm getting hungry just listening to what everyone has made.
Today was a batch of banana muffins. Nothing fancy--just the usual. They are a breakfast staple in my house and there was 1 DD this morning who was a little upset because there was only 1 left and her sister got to it first. LOL.
Then...a marble cake with fudge buttercream frosting. omg. When I was a kid my mother used to make buttercream frosting and I haven't had it in years (been lazy and using the stuff in the can which is no comparison!). Well! Now I remember why I got in SO much trouble as a little girl for sticking my fingers in the iced cake all the time. Yum yum yum. That stuff is so good!
Best part? my kids were at school when I made it so I got to lick the bowl!"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle
