^I grew hardy mums once...they were great! They need to be divided every three or four years to maintain plant vigour...learned this the hard way (marstec, who no longer has mums in her garden).
We've had a few hard frosts and most things are gone...The petunias and salvias are still blooming, what hardy plants...

I caved and picked all the Roma tomatoes today. Last night we had our first frost warning of the year. It would have been a much better season than last year had the tomatoes been full-sized. They were all tiny and green, but there were lots! Last year, they all grew big and red, but only yielded a few tomatoes per plant.

Lol, GoJays.
WOB,
I know that your hibiscus was a tropical one, but you might want to bring it in and check for signs of life. If the root hasn't frozen, it might come back. They are quite cold sensitive anyway, so bringing them in will often shock them enough to drop a lot of leaves. So, don't be alarmed if all the leaves drop off, they often regrow. Also, make sure you check the plant for bugs before bringing it in. Fingers crossed that you can save your plant, it was beautiful.

The frost yesterday has caused the single upright snapdragon plant to bend almost horizontally above the soil. There are two little new plants growing right next to to the plant. The frost has browned off the cauliflower and eggplant leaves-all are showing the "burn". Tomorrow, I will trim the plants to just a bit above ground and let the excess plant matter decompose around the stalks.
The lettuce probably has to get cut. I'm waiting on those seed heads on the tops of the plants to produce but will likely save them after cutting. Radishes were mostly a failure in the second planting-nothing but dime-sized or more miniature sizing turned out in the crop.
The zinnias (I think) in the assorted flower beds have called it a season-they were strong, tall, colourful blooms in late summer and through September, though starting to drop back this month.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Thanks marstec, DH went out back and came in and said in his best Dr Frankenstien voice " It's ALIVE! " so I don't feel so bad. I will mention about the leaves possibly dropping off when he drags it inside later. We have to put it up in the birds room so Claudius doesn't eat the leaves, that cat is nuts! I cannot even have a vase of fresh cut flowers on the table, he gnaws them at every turn.
