Lol Lynn I even entered the contest knowing if I won I would give them to my cousin. One day I might really like that dinner show. But I hate going by myself and sitting at a table with 9 other people I don't know.

Well, I'm home again. It's really nice to be able to get out. I love the freedom, but …..
I'm still walking with an awful limp, and the pain can really get bad. My 'good' side is compensating for my bad, and that's really throwing my back into spasms. Surgeon said yesterday, he's not sure it'll get back to normal, and I may need a brace for support FOREVER.
Physio doesn't seem to be working, and I only have 2 more weeks of it, so I'm really not a happy camper.

Oh, my hicks, that doesn't sound good, but it may not be a given. Hopefully something else will help you get relief.

Oh, Hicks, I'm feeling so sad for the situation you find yourself in now; damn it, how something like a little slip or fall can change our lives forever.
Believe me, I know what you're talking about: been there, bought the t-shirt, burned it.
Heaven only knows how I wish I can say things will get better, and I hope you know I really wish I could say it, but.......I guess I'm influenced by the situation I find myself in, much like yours. Disappointed in a body that doesn't want to get back to the way things were, mad at the entire situation. I told my doctor, "I never felt old. At my age I still felt like I was 40....I had energy, I walked everywhere quickly....but now I feel like an old lady. I finally feel OLD." He was so sad for me...
The best we can do now is hope that eventually our bodies will catch on to the fact that it should snap (excuse the expression) out of it, and get back to normal. Until then, I'll walk with my pretty cherry blossom cane if and when I need it, head held high, and thank heaven that I can. I was always embarrassed about using a cane, but our DD told me that no one really notices it or cares, and anyway, I carry it off well. So I"m going with that.
I hope that little story helps you, Hicks......God knows it's an awful adjustment to make; it's like going through all those stages of grief until one comes to terms with what is instead of what it was, or how it should be. I'm so sorry you're faced with this and I still hope that you'll continue to improve and that this will all be behind you one day.
Hugs, Hicks....

Really sorry to hear hicks and I know what you are going through, 3 years ago i broke 2 bones badly in my foot. I still have a little swelling in my foot and can't walk near the distance i used to. The specialist also told me it may never heal properly. S^cks getting old. On a lighter note all the docs and nurses in emerge had a good laugh when i told them how it happened which i'm not repeating. Very embarrassing.

Me too De. It's just between friends.
Thank you all, but believe me, I've been sent for a loop, but I haven't given up yet. @Lynn49 - you're just such a sweet lady.
You've gone through so much more with your leg than I have. I have been walking, well, maybe hobbling, without anything. I stopped using the crutch, thinking that the muscles would get stronger, but the phyio insists I use it, until I go out and buy myself a cane. Funny, I feel like you did. The crutch does not indicate age, just injury, but a cane, I just seems to say you're old. I expect I'll get use to the idea, but she just told me I had to get one yesterday, so I haven't accepted it yet.

In high school I slipped on the ice outside by soccer field and fell on my own hand. Broke 2 bones inside my hand. Doctor said he could only put soft cast and a sling and try not to move hand at all. He said if it's not healed in 3 weeks he would have to operate on my hand and he said chances were almost 100% it won't heal. Went back 3 weeks later where he was almost certain he would have to operate and he was stunned to find it 100% healed.
