Angela273, thank you for the chocolate chip bar and brownie recipes. I made the chocolate chip bars and they turned out great. I have just make the brownie recipe but guessed at the amount of baking powder because it appears to have been left out of the recipe. Can you let us know how much baking powder is needed for the brownies? Thanks

Hi everyone. We are just packing up to head back to London. We fly home Sunday morning and I am going to have to hit the ground running as we need groceries for back to school lunches. I have everything else they need as we did that over the summer. Like others I don't do the new clothes for the 1st day of class. With two growing boys there is no point.
it has been an amazing two weeks. One week was in a town close to Brighton and with family so fairly frugal. Week two has been in a self catering cottage in The Chiltern, self catering means we can cook and do laundry so that helps. Not a super frugal vacation but oh so worth it. We were able to save money on several admissions from a cereal box promo, felt just like home.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

My local Sobeys is having a 15% off day on Tuesday (instead of the regular 10% off). So I was just preparing for the trip and organizing my coupons. Sobeys takes off the 15% before the coupons are applied. Ex your FPCs are worth 115% instead of just 100%, so I have over a dozen FPCs that I plan on using this Tuesday (some of them expire at the end of September). If I don't work on Tuesday I plan on doing the grocery shopping while LO is at the daycare that morning.

I'm a substitute teacher...so I don't always know in advance if I will be working. LO will be going to daycare every morning...that way I can take any last minute phone calls. I have gotten called at 8:20am to teach at a school who's day starts at 8:40am.

Update: I delivered the baked goodies and business cards to 3 public schools yesterday morning and an additional 2 Catholic schools this morning. I received a phone call at 1:30pm yesterday from a teacher booking me to teacher her Grade 8 class on Sept 11th. It's nice to see the immediate reward of my hard work.

Hubby did the supply teaching route for years until we moved. He had the odd term contract but they were always a big commute. I have to say, I am glad those days are behind us. The uncertainty was brutal.

Just me and the 2 youngest ones day. The others started school today. I so miss being at home with them. I wish I could quite my job and just stay home with them. Unfortunately, my kids like to do this pesky thing called eating!

I travel next week so I'm trying to stock the freezer with meals for hubby to make things easier (and avoid him ordering take out!)

Lol your comment reminded me of this picture I saw years ago. It went like this:

    Why I Work
    -A Short Essay-

    I like food.

    The End.
