So if this is all just happening, what about counselling? - that is, if you want it to work.

You don't need to give details if you don't want to - but sometimes a cooling off period would be good, on both sides.

Hey everyone.
I've been gone a while...looks like my marriage is caput.
So since the kids will be with me, husband (soon to be ex) wants to know if I want to transfer the mortgage into my name.

My question is this. What would you do?

Child support is est $1800 a month
My income is approx. $2500 a month after taxes/pension/etc
I own my car outright but things are starting to go (2007)
Small credit card at max $1800.
Student loan $120 per month.
Mortgage-taxes $1500 per month.

No other debts other than the aforementioned.

My last payment is this week to credit proposal so I'm not sure how I would be approved anyway. Thoughts?
I'm trying to keep my head above water right now as I'm still in shock.

Good morning, everyone.

Woke up at 4am bright-eyed and bushy tailed, but forced myself to go back to sleep. The last thing my downstairs neighbour needs is a bouncy cat sounding like a herd of elephants in the middle of the night. Hoping that whatever has been bugging me is finally gone - this is the first day I feel awake in the morning (pretty sad, considering I've been sleeping in the last week).

Not happy about the weather, Lily dog isn't either - too slushy for the young lady who insisted I wash her toes when we came in. Then big brave Quincy cat decided to hiss at the door, cause he was worried that whatever messy monster Lily dog encountered might get him too. The 3 of us wouldn't even pass the audition for any type of outdoor reality show, we can't even cope with mild wintry weather in the city.

Off to get bloodwork done. Let's hope my veins haven't turned to stone.

On the bright side-here is my new rescue baby-Homer.


Someone has cut his ears and tail a bit poor boy. I know another dependent is not what I should be doing right now.....sigh. Couldn't help myself:/

Casey: wow, what a sucky situation. I believe I recall thatyou have EAP through work and can do a legal consult to at least start sorting things out.You can also ask for a financial consult as well to sort out the mortgage (stayor go). Stability is important but so is your peace of mind.
SA: which Island are you going to. DH & I did Maui andloved it, I want to take the kids next.
