QOTD: Do you have a comfort threshold on your stockpile where if you go below a certain limit you get nervous?

I used to but we just don't have the funds to be stock piling goods with the exception of meat...we are big meat eater here

In the past like some of you perhaps when I first started couponing I purchased all kinds of cleaners and I'm well stocked for quite some time, I'm glad I did but some of the items I just don't use so in the end eventhough I got them for a good price, the $ was wasted as they are not used.

At this time I prefer to have the space in my stockpile/storage room as storage for rubbermaids, etc.

I don't think I will ever stockpile like I use to as I can't find coupons for items that we use on a daily, monthly basis and I have lost my couponing momentum like many on here as well. It's easier to price match more frequently than stockpile with a coupon.

    sorry for my babbling

I don`t stock pile like I used to. Got sloppy with rotating canned goods and ended up throwing some out. If I get down to 3 jars of pb though I`m on the hunt for sales. That is a staple in this house...my go to if I don`t know what to eat.

Not really a stockpile of food in the house. When certain staples are gone and the remaining items need one or two things to make a meal with, that is usually when grocery shopping can happen. Someone bought a case of Lipton's chicken noodle soup mixes at Costco. I'm the one that ended up eating the soup over the past 2-1/2 months and adding vegetables or ginger slices or dried herbs. There are four tins of tomato soup languishing in a cupboard that the purchaser has not deigned to eat.

I will be tossing 3 packaged food items out due to how long they have been sitting in storage and expiry dates are coming up. Paper lists inside cupboard door work for listing the contents of the spice cupboard but for pantry or drawer contents or fridge, I need a more visible list system so that no one goes overboard with purchasing more cans of black olives while forgetting to buy the out of stock staples.

Don't tempt me, I just might move closer!

Today was what I call a single parent night. The bus to LO's daycare was so packed. Thankfully, the first bus we took together was relatively empty, but we were still late getting home. I had to take ten minutes out to do the dishes and LO cried and did all sorts of things to try and get my attention. I don't think it would have gone so badly had I not been feeling really under the weather. My cough is so bad that my head and chest hurts. I have to catch my breath and LO cries until I respond, which is adding to the stress. I don't usually ignore her so I think she cried at the change. Or maybe she's crying because her second molar is coming in. Or she ate something bad at daycare (according to them, she was pooping all day). I never know what she's crying at, at first, but when I do find out, it's always been a good reason. LO hasn't thrown a tantrum for the sake of a tantrum yet.

Getting her to sit in her high chair while already crying was also a feat. She wasn't interested in her food and continued crying. I ignored her to get a few bites down but gave her the sticky suction cup mat that sits at the bottom of her Spa Baby bath. She was intrigued at this silicone mat and peeled and stuck it down to her tray. She had such fun that I was able to get all her food in her.

The diaper change afterwards was also a teary eyed event. She refused her potty and kept trying to escape the changing pad. Argh. I'm so exhausted from this horrible cold and it's only the first full day of it. I'll have to dig out my inhaler to sleep tonight. I feel awful.

Thank you all for letting me complain. DH rolled in near 9 PM after work. They kept him nearly three hours past his hometime.

My hubby works 3pm - 11pm so I'm with you on feeling like a single parent in the evenings too. Its getting easier now that my girls are school age now and are more helpful and independant. Bed times are still a challenge though!

I invited them for supper before I blew up and hung up on them, she didn't even apologize, she seems to think I was having an off day by her how are you feeling???

I made the pecan pie muffins as well as the banana streudel muffins so we are all stocked up for muffins for snacks. Really glad I got them both done, saves $ on the lunch snacks for sure and always nice as a dessert too.

Dh is not back yet so I guess he is shopping, I will see how he fairs out and bite my tongue as I know he means well.

    Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Please post the recipe for pecan pie muffins...sound yummy.

Seems like a lot to me considering how much you will probably pay in interest. Less than $1500.00 in debt here and both vehicles are paid for and not planning on being in debt again. If we don't have the money then we won't be buying it.

Lots of pages of reading to catch up on. Extra cleaning planned this week as apparently I am having family Christmas get together on Saturday. The food is being brought so I just have to do dessert...hoping to do cheesecake. Other than that there is nothing thrilling happening here.

    Good morning, everyone.

It's so dark here that it still feels like bedtime. Maybe that's why we're all so sleepy today. Ever notice how you start off re-organizing one little thing and your whole home ends up in shambles? Maybe I should use some of that pb to bribe the brats into helping me. Of course, Quincy cat was already being his usual helpful self yesterday - I was sorting through some clothes, I left them on the bed when I took Lily dog out for a wander, when we got back, all the clothes were strewn about and the silly cat was lying in the middle of his new bed. Needless to say, I have to add de-catting clothes to my to-do list.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
