Wow BG it sounds like batch cooking works well for you and that your family and your daycare kids eat a very yummy, varied and balanced diet! I think I should have you writing up my menu plan!! As if you have any spare time!

With my long daycare work hours and DH back on afternoon shift I've been doing a lot of batch cooking on the wknds. On Sunday I made 24 pumpkin muffins, 12 oatmeal cranberry breakfast bars, 1 large 9 x 12 crustless broccoli quiche and 1 large fruit salad for breakfasts for the week. Then I made a meatloaf (1lb ground beef + 1lb ground pork) and a roasted butternut squash (made enough for lunches yesterday and dinner tonight) and then a large pkg of chicken thighs plus sides (sweet potatoes and broccoli and then stir fry veggies and rice) This made enough for dinner Sun and Mon night and lunch today). Now the fridge is all cleared out and I have to go back to cooking tomorrow lol (except breakfasts - still have lots of muffins etc... left lol).

Since I shouldn't be too busy tomorrow (and DH will be home at lunch to help me) it looks like we'll have time to make: a tuna noodle casserole, turkey burgers with a salad and then a beef roast in the crockpot. Should make enough meals to get us through til the wknd lol.
That is great organization in the kitchen, it takes lots of prep but with having a houseful of kids all day it is the only way to do it! Great job.

the pump for the lung infections is both medicine and to open the airways, it doesn't quite look like an asma (spelling???) pump but similar, he was quite anxious to take a few more puffs when he got home from school today he says it feels better

Went for blood work this morning. I know I`m difficult to get blood from but 2 tries in each arm and they weren`t sure if they got enough. The nurse that used to do it usually got it on the first try but she retired last summer. Did I mention I miss her?

Nancy I hope Jaden gets better soon.

MrsS Good luck with the job search.

    Lizzie, TG, Angela Great shopping.

FBM Can I hire you to declutter my house next? I keep bringing more things in and don`t take the time to get rid of other stuff.

Bobbie That`s an awful lot of cooking and it sounds so good.

Got a new baby afghan kit today. Just finished the first of 3 strips, then sew them together and do an edging. Very simple pattern so i hope to get it done tomorrow unless the weather co-operates and I can get to Listowel to get groceries. I have a few PC Plus offers I`d like to use.

Like @Andit said-Mother Nature is turning up the A/C. Overnight and tomorrow am it's to feel like -30C in southern Ontario? Generous application of Vaseline on skin is SO happening tonight. My hands are not happy that I did not use rubber gloves during dishwashing. Tomorrow, the gloves go on!
@bobbiegirl-ooh, muffins! Need to make them a part of weekly baking. Good idea

Afternoon-chance to go to Burlington's Value Village. Two jacket choices were a Windriver jacket in red for $9.99 with snap on hood and snap placket over the zipper or the $17.99 Columbia Sportwear baggy windbreaker-looking parka with the black fleece drawstring liner. Did not like the baggier coat but the red one fit well though it ends just below the waist-bought it! Also found a 99-cents Vogue sewing pattern (1992 edition) for dresses with scallop hems and scallop neckline (remember my Feb. rants about not finding the Joe Fresh dress in black knit with scallop hem). I'll be doing practice scallop hems this month so I can plan on a dress for spring. Found out Monday's sale is 50% off and that as a Super Saver I can get a birthday discount (for day of birthday or day after)-signed up for card! Coat has been washed and it's hanging to dry. There's some pilling on the shoulders I should be able to remove when the coat is dry. An inside pocket needs some stitches along the bottom too.

Food Basics had the Dark Ginger Ale so the FPC was redeemed.

good luck with the scalloped hem, fabricland is having the big sale this weekend, I need some fabric but I already know how long the line ups will be and I'm dreading it!!

Finally got caught up. Sleep study done- check!
Visit with DH's son at airport on his stop-over - very nice!
DH's consultation with specialist 're his continuing vertigo led to a plan - change some meds and see if that helps - report in next week.
Picked up doggies from sitter- they very much smell like DOGS! They have a grooming appointment Thursday but I don't want to take off much fur - It's COLD out there!
Now I have to start de-Christmasing the house. Yes, START. Well, I can claim I was celebrating Orthodox Christmas, but now it has to all get organized and put in well-labelled boxes.
As it's getting late, I should go wake up DH and suggest he come to bed.
Have to do some financial paperwork tomorrow. I got a statement today about my pension. We did get a raise, but because our health insurance went up, I'll actually be making LESS - but I sure can't complain about our health coverage. It has sure saved our bacon wrt drug coverage!

    Night all!

Both little one's I watch are away today and the school's are open and buses running. So I will be getting an unexpected 6 hrs of kid-free time today This very rarely ever happens so I'm going to try and use it to my advantage and get as much done today as possible so that hopefully my wknd can be mostly free for family fun and relaxation

    Good morning, everyone.

Late start for us - none of us wanted to get out of our warm cozy beds.

Would someone be so kind as to tell me when I can expect global warming to come to my neighbourhood? Even with several layers on, our 5 minute walk seemed an eternity. On the plus side, I'm now warm & toasty in this oven of a condo (I spent yesterday afternoon dealing with 2 sweet potatoes that were the size of Lily dog's head (well, almost!) and now I have sides to go with several meals sitting happily in my freezer). I don't dare open the window, for fear of not being able to close it. I think it might be a good time to schedule cleaning the fridge day. Think I'll put on a dvd that took place in a warm climate - anyone remember Sweating Bullets (now released as Tropical Heat)? It was a Canadian/American/Mexican (later Israeli) co-production about a PI living in Key West who solved crimes (committed by assorted Canadian actors ).

Brats are fighting again over who gets the sunny spot. Been a while since they've had to do that, I might just have to call dibs on the spot and join them.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Just realized how appropriate this thread title is, w/c is -40 here.

We aren't doing Ukrainian Christmas this year, but I'll still listen to some carols today, and it's in my heart!
