I decided to clean the fridge freezer tonight, which resulted in making hot pot which is all the leftover bits of roast that I throw I the freezer for another day, so dinner is done for Wednesday. I also found lots of frozen bananas so made chocolate bottom banana cake for lunches. It freezes well so half goes into the freezer for another time. Now I am mindlessly watching Love Actually, it's one of my fave movies
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

I got a couple great finds on local garage sale facebook pages tonight. I'm supposed to pick-up tomorrow. A free pack of newborn size Pampers Swaddlers. She had opened the packaging and is unable to return it. My Neighbour spotted an ad for a double stroller that matches my bucket car seats. $70 for the Graco double stroller, in great condition with the manual. Regular price is $260, before taxes and not available for purchase in my community. I'm quite happy with my finds.

I just had a teacher ask me to teach the entire day tomorrow. I was torn, but told her I was only available in the afternoon. I have a dental cleaning in the morning that was a cancellation spot. If I cancelled my appointment, then I wouldn't get in until mid-June. I am paying for a full-time childcare spot for LO until the end of May. As much as I really don't want to miss out on a full day of work, I also don't want to make special childcare arrangements in June. I would also be over 30wks pregnant with the twins in June and am pretty sure that I would be even more physically uncomfortable in the dental chair at that time. I am sticking to my original plan and will spend time with LO if I don't get called to work.

Well this morning got groceries and went out for a brisk walk. This aft I will be filling up the car and then spending a couple hrs with the 4 year old twins doing some speech therapy etc. DH is making homemade pizza for dinner and maybe after that DD and I should get some laundry done.

    Good Afternoon All,
Tonight's dinner is a mystery, Mom got change to 10 to 7 so she asked if I would wait until she got home to have dinner but I just cannot do it. We would not eat until after 8 by the time she gets home, one I know by then I would eat quite a bit of junk as I would be starving and two I would have to eat and go right to bed. So now she has asked if what I will make will have leftovers which maybe hard. I was planning on using up some leftovers but we will have to see what comes to me when I get home.

Need to get working on a few things around the house but also have quite a bit of work to get done so we will have to see which one wins out. Will all depend on how I feel when I get home my lower back has been bugging me quite a bit lately so I found some stretches to help and they are working but still not 100% yet. If my back is bothering me I will do my work as I can sit down but would still like to try to get a couple small things at home done. Where is the time going I cannot believe Friday is going to be May already, don't get me wrong happy about the nice weather but where has the start of the year gone.

Have a great day everyone, must get back to work.

    Afternoon all,

I got my filing all sorted just need to put in filing cabinet (I will do this tomorrow).
I fixed the desk, the bottom shelf fell out and moved a bunch of dh's stuff downstairs where it belongs....geez I hate when he invades my space he has his own gigantic desk but all his crap ends up on mind .

The desk is back in tip top shape, organized and junk relocated

Dh gave Jaden permission to stay home this am as he had a sore throat, really....he has been wandering around the house bored out of his mind and who stays home for a sore throat .

Then it gets worse dh announced he didn't feel like going to the cottage alone , I was so deflated with the news I just about started crying as I need some alone time which is non-existent with dh home all the time driving me insane....geez. So it looks like I will have to go with him for a few days next week to the cottage to fix the hole so the squirrel will be exiled from the cottage, I will say he had a sweet place to spend the winter . I'm thinking perhaps FIL could go with dh instead of me but who knows...

Dinner tonight is boneless pork chops on the bbq with rice and a side salad, dinner tomorrow will be leftovers because I made dh chicken to take with him and well he didn't go, there are a few other things that will get used up so - no cooking tomorrow for me

Laundry is hanging outside, I will fold and put away after I take them off the clothesline.

My parents are still around (lol) my mom called and said they would be by Sunday....sigh...I just don't feel like entertaining or socializing and quite disappointed that I'm not alone....I should let it go but I was so looking forward to it BUT I guess I should not have counted my chickens before they hatched again...

Glad to hear the stretches are helping Ashley. As for dinner I know you said before that you and your mom don't always like the same things so do what you can, leftovers for you and something quick for her if there are no leftovers in the freezer she likes, just a thought. I hear you about the days flying by, it's hard to believe like you said Friday is the 1st of May....

Afternoon everyone, took some time and caught up on this thread today.

Everyone seems to be bustling along.

Angela and Granger you too are doing so well keeping up the fast pace with your pregnancies! Keep up the good work on baby deals you are getting!! Second hand is the only way to go, the clothes are used for such a short time.

I am enjoying the cost break down of dinners, lots of great ideas and economical suppers. I will join you next week with that, I am alone for 8 glorious days as the boys have gone to the states to visit a friend and go turkey hunting, so I am eating a lot of grilled cheese and toasted tomato sandwiches. I t is wonderful to have the time off from cooking and shopping.I can totally understand why you are disappointed Nancy, I enjoy my alone time and can't imagine if my husband was home everyday.

We were supposed to go to Hawaii in a few weeks but had to cancel our trip as i couldn't get travel health insurance due to the clot I have. Very disappointing but on the bright side It was found and hopefully once I see the surgeon I will be good to go for a long time. Unfortunately the trip was entirely free as it was a reward trip through my husbands work, so I feel bad for him. I told him to take one of the kids but he didn't want to go without me. So sweet.

Some of you may do this already but with the price of ground beef so high I have been adding my free cans of corn and black beans from the PC points offer a couple of months ago to my taco meat and we are really enjoying it and it is going twice as far.

    Enjoy the spring weather everyone!!

Woohoo. I just checked Facebook garage sale groups before I was going to have my nap. I managed to snag a FREE sturdy dresser. The lady is willing to hold onto it for me so that dh can pick it up after work. I may not be "working" today, but it certainly looks like I am continuing to save us money.

@thriftygranny lucky ducky all by yourself....so jealous. Enjoy eating what you want, when you want and only having to take care of yourself. I say better safe than sorry, I think it's smart to wait to travel to Hawaii as you wouldn't want to take any chances in the states and like you said once you're all healthy as a horse (matter of speaking lol) you will enjoy the trip so much more not having to worry about getting sick. Great tip about stretching out the meat by adding fillers such as corn and beans
