Sending you and your mom prayers and healing thoughts. It's awful to have to wait for results. I hope that you can move on with the treatment plan quickly. Has your mum been connected with CCAC support? We have lots of helpful people who deal with varying needs. We have a nurse practitioner, a treatment nurse, an occupational therapist that assessed and set up connections for supportive devices, a social worker who talks to us about dealing with the emotional side of the journey. It has all been very helpful.
Please take care of yourself, too, in the process of helping your mom!

wow busy bunch of girls -since I missed 2 days babysitting
-andit so glad you got answers sorry to hear about your mom -sending good vibes your way
-its not easy being on one income(but we chose this) -you really have pick your wants and needs and when you own a home sometimes the house has to come first (if things are in a state of repair like my driveway-its a valley of ups and downs)
-frugalbigmama-its true we would love to move into a bungalow-from our large 2 storey house but then again we would get a good price for our house but the fees involved in moving -we are just gonna stay here fix up items when we can and hope we can live here til the end -mind you I have arthritis in my knees and some days when my knees are sore its hard doing the stairs
-well having a few people interested in a few items on kijiji but then they don't message me back -ugggg-trying to set aside that money for daughter's baby stroller we are going in on with his parents
-on a good note daughter is feeling kicks all the time more now -I think she is 21 weeks -3 days til I now what she is having -I picked up a tiny dress for 3.99 for a girl and a little turtle romper 2.99 for a boy from carters reduced section -so when she cuts into the cake I will give to her -just a tiny gesture

oh boy, I read back a bit to catch up.
@Andit very sorry for the delay your Mom experienced in getting her results. She sure has spunk though insisting she wants to be on her own! I hope she gets her treatment ASAP.
@sweet sparrow , the thought of listing, selling, and moving gives me a giant headache! I do not blame you for wanting to avoid that whole thing. I hope some other ( financial ) miracle happens that eases your budget woes.
@jasperandchar I'll bet doing the flooring yourselves will be better anyway ( more work though ) but sure seems like you've had your fill of aggravation from contractors and their rules.
Only a few things on my list today ( never did make it to FB yesterday despite driving right near one ? ) FreshCo, Metro and a Thrift store drained the little energy I had left.....so I just headed back home.
Oh!! at the Thrift store I got 3 pieces for $8.00!! A calf length black skirt, ( lovely invisible zipper in back ), a sheer blouse with collar but with solid black sleeves and then a waist length short sleeved black cover top ( to hide the sheerness of the blouse ) it serves almost like a bolero (?) jacket look. Anyways, I tried all 3 pieces on together and have a suitable outfit now for the funeral on Monday. Works for me.
Wish I could wear black running shoes, I hate heels!

Good morning, everyone.
A certain roommate woke us up pre-dawn by racing around and crashing into walls. After I insisted it was too early to get up, we all went back to bed and slept in.
Going to have a fun weekend involving theatre, root beer, and possibly sake and absinthe with friends.Might even take the short one to a patio, since he's been bored lately.
Hope everyone enjoys their day and their weekend!

I'm just hoping that I get to keep my job in the upcoming five years. Then, there will be a reason to stay here, I hope.
My mom just had the first of her procedures yesterday. In the next few weeks, the x-ray will be able to tell if it was successful. Then, on to the next surgery! She is pretty happy because she is feeling a bit better today. Yesterday, she was working to keep liquids down. She's optimistic enough to take the streetcar into the downtown to see her friend.I'm so impressed she knows the stop to get off at for the community centre where she's hoping to take a senior's class.

Well the bozo was here not very long this am, I was right a 2nd coat of paint was needed, it's been done. Now it "magically* seems that he can start my hardwood flooring on Monday and hopefully finish the installation by mid day Tuesday, I'm not holding my breath.
What really peeves me is that we were quoted 1 price (verbally) which included the room being totally finished BUT not him helping us install the hardwood flooring. The quote also included much more work (double closet to be framed, etc) However the current price which we owe does not include (installing door frame, the door, the door knob, the window wood encasement, the window trim, the attic access door and the trim for that) which is was SUPPOSED to be part of the price .
The price for the flooring install was always separate which I'm fine with the price, we will need to sand ourselves, stain and varnish which we were prepared to do anyways. But how can so many things be taken off the list which were in the original quote??? I will admit we didn't get a written contract which I now regret but I never imagined so many things would not be done for the same price.
If we choose to hire him for other work WHICH I SERIOUSLY DON"T THINK WILL HAPPEN - I want a contract which will include the price and a detailed list of the work to be done or atleast I will demand this regardless. Dh is angry as well BUT I more so blame my inlaws because he was only supposed to install 5 sheets of drywall (mud and sand) at their place while he was working on our room which is not very time consuming BUT they decided to do their whole flippin basement which of course took away time that was supposed to be spent here...BUT I still can't wrap my head around the price, I want to ask but I know I will be quite rude as I'm super pissed off
and if dh asks I don't know what that will result in!!!
I'm trying to be positive BUT it's hard because all these undone projects now fall on my poor dh's shoulders and with his back he's very limited to how much can be done in a day.
ON A MUCH HAPPIER NOTE - dh was offered a contract until the end of the school year so we are super excited as he will be at the same location everyday vs a different school everyday. it also means more financial stability which we really need right now.

I've stepped up my game and I'm now trading for coupons again as we really need to reduce our monthly grocery expenses AND ds2 is super excited, he used to be my couponing buddy. He's cut up all the inserts we got from a couple weeks ago and has my binder all organizedHe's also super excited to go coupon hunting at the stores
so I have some to keep me motivated which is great.
Wishing everyone a great day & Happy Mother's Day weekend to all mothers of children (young & old) and let's not forget the mother of fur babies as well2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

My wonderful man did the ceramic tile in the entrance and powder room for his first time ever last year. It took him a few hours longer then it should have but it was his first time and now he knows etc He did a fantastic job. The gent at Rona is great for asking questions. He really gave us good info/instructions.
Can't wait till he tackles the kitchen floor!!!!

We might be making a trip 3hrs south to the brick tomorrow about a new washer and dryer. Laundromat here is $5 a load we have an average of a load per person a week here which adding it up and accounting for accidents or company or extra laundry for camping etc as 5 loads average per week tital it adds up to approx 1300 a year...just to wash clothing N the washer dryer set i found is 2198 right now.
Was bored while waiting for thibgs to wash and dry soNed d up buying a cupcake....cringe though because it was 3.50 and it's not very impressive.
