Good news. I had an infestation of fruit flies that I think came from some squash I was storing on the windowsill. I mean, there were a lot of flies and I could *not* get rid of them. I was about to visit the local hardware store and buy anything that looked like it stood a chance against the winged menace...but I took a moment to google "fruit flies" and "exterminate." I came across an old wives remedy: 1 cup of cider vinegar in an open jaw with a few drops of dishwashing detergent to break the surface tension. I set out two traps and within 24 hours the jars each had several dozen flies floating at the bottom. I could not believe how well the traps worked. And everything I used was off the shelf...so it cost me next to nothing. I hate fruit flies.

Its snowing and we will be having som rain soon so nasty weather out. If you have to be on the roads be careful.

Not sure what my plans are but I need some brown sugar before next week and Food for my Fur baby will see if I go out today.

I'm determined to get my Christmas cards out today, wrap our Grandson's new guitar from his parents, but hiding here, and that may be the extent of my energy today. Our dental appointments yesterday and a walk-through a shop here had me nearly comatose, so today is a day of rest. Amof I should do this until Christnas, just to get through the day.

morning all...the white stuff made another delivery over night...but the weather is supposed to warm up well into the single digits later today...so I've got some shovelling to do later this morning when the sun shows, lest I want a pond to form underneath our back deck...

what a wonderful showing of early birds in here today!! Chirp, Chirp!
Here is some " food for thought " in the year that was and is nearly gone!
I wonder what my main searches were for??




Believe it or not earlier I cleaned the vehicle of the white stuff, warmed it all toasty inside to take DD to Home Depot ( isn't it wonderful they open at 6 a.m.? ), filled the gas tank too.
DD got door to door service from me, dropped her at the entrance, and met her down at the exit. Can't have her walking....ha ha ha.

Take 2 minutes today to look at how beautiful those very large trees with no leaves and tons of spindly branches look with their new coat of snow on them. Nature, cannot argue with that.

Um...nature may not argue with that, but I contend that trees covered in lovely shades of green leaves, dancing in a warm breeze, beats snow-laden branches any time, anywhere!
Just sayin'.

As to chauffeuring our Daughters door to door....is there any other way?!

Good Morning everyone! That white stuff has gathered around here too! Unfortunately I am no longer able to shovel(despite my instincts to do so)but will clear off the truck so DW can go to work.For those driving, stay safe and watch out for those idiots that make no allowance for that white stuff.
Hope that everyone is keeping well during these trying times.
Yours truly took down the tree last year and put it in one spot and the stand in another! Spent time yesterday looking for Christmas crackers and the decorations. Of course never did find them but found all sorts of other stuff that was good for sidetracking me. Today I will give it another shot!
Whatever you do today stay safe,sane,well and warm(hopefully 4 out of 4!)

Good day today for laundry and a rest day from the gym. Also about 7000 steps in even though I really didn’t do much today. Burned 1800 calories at the gym yesterday and really just needed a break today. Hope everyone had a good Wednesday.
