Good morning......my Friend called this morning.
Her Husband died of a heart attack just after midnight.
She's in such a state, thankfully has a neighbour friend who has been close to them with her since then.....she doesn't know financial things, so she asked if she could talk with our Daughter, she's the only one she trusts....I talked with our DD just now and yes if course she'll walk her through everything...it's part of what she does for her clients anyway.
Chest pain off and on for 2 days....it's nothing, no to going to emerg, he took a couple aspirin before bed last night, he'd be fine, went to the washroom downstairs....that was it.
What the hell is it with men who'd rather die than go to a hospital??!!Last edited by Lynn49; Thu, Mar 11th, 2021 at 01:30 PM.

^^^ how tragic @Lynn49 for your friend.
Now she is forced to navigate through the unknown financial soup of her future. Bless your DD for agreeing to help her through this.
Wrt to " some " men and their inability to admit they need medical attention, I say why?? It is a mystery for sure.
Have things changed regarding funerals during covid? Her last goodbye to him may be a virtual one, doubly tragic.

@walkonby , she's meeting with the funeral home now to make arrangements, and with us entering grey zone again, services are limited to 10. I'm frankly reticent to attend since I'm mid-spring-asthma but of course if she's planning a formal funeral we certainly will attend.
I passed her our DD's advice to do nothing. Absolutely nothing has to be done, she can wait a week, two weeks or more before she needs to think about anything.
It's so difficult to hear her say things like..."I didn't know that was our last Christmas".....😥
Walks, he took good care of himself, he was pre-diabetic so took sugars (which meant anything with even hidden sugars) from his diet, exercised, lost weight, but when his heart tried to warn him of a problem, he ignored it.
He could still have been here with her.
There was no good-bye, Walks.....she just found him on the floor.....Last edited by Lynn49; Thu, Mar 11th, 2021 at 11:29 AM.

@cath007 - hoping with you for your dad's quick recovery.
I have to go tomorrow to get some bloodwork done and to have an x-ray on my hip. Dr. is checking to see if I have hip surgery in my future- near or far.
We had an incredible thunderstorm tonight- complete with lightning very close. Only lasted a little while but the winds are incredible.
Going to wish you all a wonderful, peaceful sleep.
One year of this pandemic- I just can't wrap my head around that!
Goodnight, my friends!

Morning Everyone
I’ve only been on SC sporadically lately and after a quick scan of some of the pages of posts I missed it looks like I have a lot of catching up to do
@danger_dan Happy belated birthday. Hope you had a good one.
@cath007 Wishing the best for your father. I too said a prayer for him.
@SnowFlakey Congrats on your TH wins!
@Natalka Good to hear you slept well and spent a lovely evening with your son
@Lynn49 Sorry to hear about your friend’s husband. Good on your DD for lending a helping hand. And those coasters are so professional looking! As I’ve told you before, I admire - and envy - your crafty-ness
My apologies if I missed anyone’s news...
As for me, I’ve been dealing with some health issues - nothing serious thank goodness. They're mostly resolved except for one that is lingering on. I've also been learning to use Zoom after resisting it for months. I thought it might come in handy down the road
Have a nice weekend everyone. Don’t forget we move the clocks ahead on Sunday!Have a great life!
