So last night was packed for that dinner, I had 2 helpings of sheppard's pie. Snowing here this morning and I need to head out in an hour, hope not to slippery. Hope everyone has a good day.
Ciabatta buns better still be available at no frills when I go shopping Tuesday lol. They're usually $2.00 - $2.50 so for $1.00 is a good deal and I already buy them but for $5.00 can buy 5 instead of 2.

A quick good morning to everyone!!!
Organizing a congratulations dinner for our Daughter this evening, they'll all be here after her work. I'm trying to replicate her favourite dinner from CasinoRama, a $15 mac&cheese entree!! I won't charge that much..
It's penne pasta with sharp cheddar, fontina, guyeyre and asiago cheeses, panko crumbs, finely diced bacon and mushrooms, heavy cream....I hope this comes close for her!DH picked up a big porketta roast to go with it, veggies, etc...should be such fun!
@avoncallingu , enjoy your hot new red car, and I agree, a night over in Chatham would be a good idea...that's a long drive on a boring highway; don't want you falling asleep. And YES! My asthma 'broke' two nights ago with the frost we had (no snow thank goodness!), so my puffers are actually working to keep my coughing at bay!!!
Okay, everyone! Have a wonderful FRIDAY!!!! Toodles for now!

On a more serious note
does anyone know how to recycle reading glasses. I have several pairs of mine I don't need anymore and some of Mr P's as well. I'd like them to go to people who need them rather than sling them in the bin.

Hi Darth! Most optometrists I have seen will accept them to be recycled to needy folk -usually in the 3rd World.
I would think if you called the Salvation Army, they could always give you info if the first suggestion doesn't work.
I am ensconced in a hotel room in Chatham-not the one we thought we had booked - long, complicated and exhausting story. But I picked up my new car and it is VERY nice. Got to figure out the new navigation system and voice activation. Things I never activated in the old car. It was sad to say good-bye to her.
Stopped at Michael's-they didn't have any gravestone "saddles". Went to Laura Secord to pick up some special treats for nephews.
Went to a local restaurant and I swear I almost fell asleep in my supper- but had to find a hotel.
Going to go to a friend's house for breakfast in the morning and pick up some frozen dinners at a place called, "What's For Dinner?" for which I have a gift certificate.
The local downtown mall is like a ghost city since Sears has closed and everyone else is struggling.
Hoping, also, to find some old-fashioned lined drapes at the local Value Village to hang in our new Windows. Need to keep those howling winds at bay.
Board game night at our church tomorrow night and our sponsored Syrian family has been invited. Just try explaining Halloween to a family new to your culture.
I am fighting to keep my eyes open but I would like to stay awake until about 9:30 to try to guarantee a full night's sleep.

Hello every1.
I hope you're all having a good day.
On the negative front, I ended up back in emergency, then a hospital room for a day & a half, but everything seems ok now. Still really sore & uncomfortable, but alright.
On the positive side, Jake's coming home in about an hour. Can't wait to see him.

Oh, @22hicks, I'm both sad and happy...sad that you had to returrn to the hospital, but happy that you did get there and that you were able to be helped. I'm pretty sure that the snuggles you're getting from Jake right now are making you feel all better!
Dogs are capable of bringing so much love, care and healing to us, they're such comforts, bless their hearts.
Now continue to rest and heal, my dear Friend.Last edited by Lynn49; Sat, Oct 28th, 2017 at 03:17 PM.

I want to thank you all again for your support. I'm not sure you realize how much that means.
So, just finished reading through all the posts. Do you get all your results next week @Lynn49 ? And, how are you feeling; first bronchitis, then your asthma acting up. You've had a rough time of it. All better sweetie? Sure hope so.
Gall bladder @avoncallingu ; that's not fun, if it turns out to be that. Like @Lynn49 , I had mine out a few years ago too. They did try to take it out laprosocpically, but without success. The surgeon said "it was so infected, he had to use Black & Decker tool to get that sucker out". But, mine was emergency surgery, and it sounds like you've caught it early. If all the tests come out positive, they should be able to remove it laparoscopically. But, whatever it is, I pray they find out soon, and deal with it.
As for your commute @danger_dan , I've been there too. It's easy to say relax, or whatever, but it's so frustrating. I don't really have a suggestion, I think we each have to find our own way. Personally, I used the time as 'down time' just for me - to think, fantasize, sing, plan a vacation, or whatever. It just seemed to help pass the time. Good luck.
You're so right @avoncallingu , Jake hated wearing that costume last year, so none this.
Oh, BTW, I wanted to tell you again @walkonby , I love your new hair due.
Let's kick some butts tonight Astros.
Every1 enjoy your evening.
