Morning all, rainy long commute into the city today.
@walkonby ...in the most crude sense, yes it is a shock collar. We've only laid the wire down and haven't started training him with it just yet. There are multiple different settings with the system we bought, where there is an audio warning, followed by a vibration warning, followed by a 20% shock followed by a 100% shock (shocks are based on the power level setting that we set the system at [1-5]), in combination with a distance setting (1-10) in proximity to the laid down wire.
So on the bottom of the spectrum, with the power level of the shock to a 1 and Cooper would only hear the audio queue, get a vibration, and the most mildest of (100%) shocks (like a static shock between people).
On the top end, setting at 5 he would get the max shock. On this setting, the warning 20% zap is the same as the max zap at setting 1.
Cooper is a very smart boy, we're sure he will learn very quickly where he's allows to roam soon enough. Plus he's got over 1.5 acres of space to run around inside the loop we laid...hope he appreciates that!
@Lynn49 ...speaking of Christmas...whats the countdown look like?

Good morning!!
Another typical "Saturday" around here, no plans, nothing on the agenda, life in retirement is quite uncomplicated.
Sorry to those who still work but....I don't!
A sunny but cool day, up to 12, but it's windy so I doubt there'll be any sitting on the swing with Jenny today.
I'll likely take out my painting supplies and do more practicing.
@danger_dan, so glad you asked; this one's for you Sweetie:
Countdown to Christmas Eve:
The current date is 7 May 2019
There are 231 days, 15 hours, 32 minutes until 24 December 2019 (Christmas Eve)
ENJOY your day, everyone!!!

bwahaha!! I on the other hand LOVED that herb post. That reminds me..... my celery is growing!! Bothered by the ridiculous price of a bunch of the green stuff ( $5.99 at some stores! ) I decided to try that thing where you hack off the bottom of one and stick it in water, you know with toothpicks suspending it up a bit?
I placed it in the sunniest window sill we have and yup! It has already sprouted baby celery insides ( leaves? ) in the centre! Now it may take some time before it grows taller, enough so I can actually use any BUT it is the principal of the thing....celery should never cost $5.99....not ever!
Oh @danger_dan thanks for easing my mind a bit over Coopers upcoming training....and OMG! @Lynn49 was it you that posted that hilarious picture of a fried looking doggy or hyena suggesting that he peed on an electric fence? So bad...but yeah, I laughed.
My hygienist appt. this morning was uneventful, just the way I like them. Not much else on the ticket today for me, oh and Lynn about the huge cross stitch project, ahem, well I'd say I have plenty stitched already.
Half of the books on the top and bottom book shelves are complete as well as the back end of the cat. The other side is more books and the sleepy face of that cat, as well as all the top stitching of book titles, and other accent stitches...but I'll get to it.
I might even entertain the idea of dragging my work out to the gazebo area on some nicer days.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Afternoon, peeps!
Yep, lol, that hyena meme showed up on my pinterest page and I thought it was perfect for Cooper!
You've made big progress on your crosstitch, @walkonby ! I know how long that takes, great job!
Well, it's not balmy out here on the swing, so I know I won't last long. I gave Jenny a little treat and yep, true to form, she's trotted off to the gate wanting to dine indoors! She's already made 3 trips back here to inform me of her decision. You're so right, Walks, she rocks her tiarall!
Fine.
Were going back in. My hands are cold anyway so that's what I'll tell her, it has nothing to do with her coming back here several times.
Hope you're all enjoying your day!

@walkonby - Oy, don't get me started on the celery price. Yep, it's $5.99 here , which is bizarre! I eat and cook with celery all of the time.
@Lynn49 - I am feeling better now, hope it stays that way.
Just had a nurse visit. It was Ramona, the head nurse of my region, and she looked after me a lot in the past. She just couldn't get over how good I looked and how well I was doing; she had seen me through my very worst, so this was so nice.
So because I just need less monitoring, my nurse visits will go to once every two weeks, always with the proviso that I can call if I have a need. It was just so nice that she kept saying I was doing so well, and said she didn't know how to describe it, just that I looked bright and so much better!
Just had lunch and will try to have a bit of a snooze.
Hope you all have a great day!
