I got the charcoal coals perfectly white hot and DH got to enjoy steak and eggs for breakfast! Now his breakfast time is when most people have their late lunch or early dinner, but all in all he was a happy guy! They ( DS and him are now back at doing the patio stone thing ).
Waiting till the sun leaves the front is such a bummer ( for Ms Impatient!!.....me!) but I do understand they cannot work out there with the sun beating down on their backs.
So close to being finished, maybe...kinda?? I hope!!

Hope everyone has a good Canada Day today. I did the 5k race this morning and didn’t finish last lol. My shorts kept falling off though haha but I think I finished under 40 mins. Someone high fived me at the finish line and said I did great for my first 5k race. They will have the results up on their website later today. They also took a few pics including a group photo with the Canadian flag.

Happy Canada Day everyone. Nice day out there. My catalpa tree is in full bloom, it's gigantic and majestic. Time to cut it. It's a little too gigantic and majestic. Can't afford to take it right down to the ground though, that's over $1000. Topping it is a little more affordable. But only after it finishes blooming.

@GoJays , I had to look up catalpa tree and are they gorgeous!!! How long ago did you plant it? The flowers are so beautiful, too...gosh, you're so fortunate to have one!

We're home now, but at camp, one of our neighbours planted a hedge of Japanese Willows and they're so beautiful! Have you seen those around? They're new to me, also. Omgosh, I want at least one of these here!!!

I have one of those too @Lynn49 . Mine is a standard rather than a shrub though. It's right beside the catalpa tree and they're competing for space. Think jungle canopy. I've had the catalpa planted for 15 years now and it's between 30-40 feet tall. Fortunately for me, the spread isn't too severe. The flowers are very pretty, yes, but they also smell very nice. And the bees and bumblebees love it. Consider it my contribution to helping the bee population.

Ok I actually finished in 40.23 and came in 15th out of 24 in the 5k race. I was #1 in my age category of 45-49 (being 46 lol) spin class at noon Tuesday and hope everyone has a good week.
