Nope my roommate cannot stand poutine!

I HATE gravy too!! I will only eat it if it's part of poutine...I think I still hate gravy but love poutine LOL!

Ummm so I feel like everyone in this thread must hate me by now...but hooray! The last of my fries and poutine gravy is gone...so my week of poutine is officially over. I had poutine and chicken strips again. I was going to walk to the grocery store and get a cold macaroni salad because they are on sale but it looks like it might pour again so I figured I would just raid the cupboards and eat junk food tonight and pick up the salad some other night to have with chicken.

I'm eating beer nuts right now for dessert LOL! On sale at bulk barn!

Tonight we had M&M Meats jumbo chicken wings (they are SO awesome, even better than any we have gotten in a restaurant), homemade garlicky potato wedges, and coleslaw.

That soup looks fabulous walks, did you save me a bowl? Since I took the grandkids to the lake yesterday, before I left, I put a roast into the slow cooker and topped it with, veggies. When we got home, everything was done. Just made some gravy and dinner was served.

Today, I'm going to make some more bread and was thinking of making some Jamacian patties for dinner while I'm at it. I'll serve them with a nice greek salad and tada...another easy meal

Well you dear people out there in Smart Canuck Land, Loocie is going to be away for awhile so I am letting you know just in case someone happens to wonder where I toddled off to.

I have things happening that need my attention & it is time for me to attend to them.

I will be back as soon as I can & I want you all to know that I will be thinking of you all!

Take good care & please remember your manners & be kind to one another.

How could I not part without leaving you all a poem? Albeit a revamped one, but my sentiments remain the same.

It’s nearly my forth anniversary of being a so called Smart Canuckette,
Sometimes I wonder what I am doing but I haven’t figured that out yet,
    I chatter, I natter & I sometimes post pics,
I prattle, seen battle & talked about flicks,
Sometimes I say just what’s on my mind,
Even wrote prose about things that are lined,
Upon reflecting about things I’ve learned here,
It is a place where so many have come to endear,
We’ve had our differences & the occasional kerfuffle,
& times when we should have all opted to muffle,
We’ve had many join us & blend nicely into our little fold,
We’ve have folks who were banned for being too bold,
We’ve had loss; we’ve had triumphs & some very lucky winners,
We’ve given tips & welcomed many Smart Canuck beginners,
Some of our regulars have gone & we miss them dearly,
& that is a statement that I make more sincerely,
Your resident poet sometimes thinks about retiring,
But I keep coming back, cause you’re all so inspiring,
I certainly didn’t intend to post daily at such a feverish pitch,
& being a Smart Canuck has certainly not made me rich,
Thanks to you all for always knowing the right things to say,
As sometimes we all need a boost to brighten our day,
Although this place has seen a number of changes,
We still come here for our pleasant exchanges,
I think I have likely said so much more than enough,
Now off you all go & stick to the usual stuff!

    Love,

    Loocie

Well I did make the borscht. But not the usual suspect, I made Sorrel Borscht - so good!! My friend's Mom would die if she knew I paid for the sorrel, she calls it Depression soup (sorrel picked from the ditch). But like a good SCer I did search around a couple of booths at the Farmer's Market to find the cheapest price. LOL

Last night had Pan Sear pacific salmon, herbed orzo (needed to use up some herbs) and peas. WM had the Pan Sear on clear out awhile ago for $4.00 and I used a $2.00 coupon, $0.50 a piece. Normally around these parts, goes for $11 or $12. But it was only ok and I definitely would not pay the regular price.

Tonight I'm having left over Chicken Tikka Masala as I'm going golfing.

Of all the foods I prepared over the weekend, I got home and felt like having sauteed veg. Chinese eggplant, mushroom, onion, red peppers, added steamed green beans, some sliced almonds a handful of dried cranberries, and threw the last cup of the cooked vermicelli in for good measure!
Look at me trying to be a vegetarian!!.
