I am in for the challenge, just gotta decide what will be first on my to do list. I made myself a very long to do list this weekend and now I am just trying to work priorities my list. I will get back on what my official challenge for September will be.

So me and mom went to do our shopping last night as I did not want her going alone on her hurt leg (she will go to the doc tomorrow but I know she won't listen to him as he will tell her to stay off it which she won't). Ended up getting a basket of potatoes for free as they rang up at the wrong place. Tried to fight that I should also get the peaches for free (it was a multi buy) but they said all baskets have the same sku so no. I know I could have fought harder but after standing in long for 30 minutes to check out and another 10 to 15 in customer service to get my bill fixed with mom refusing to go sit in the car I was happy to get my $3.00 back and be done.

So far we have spent about $60 on groceries this week. I want to go buy some more ground beef after work to make burgers to freeze so that will about another $10, plus mom will be picking up a few groceries today as a lot of produce last night was not the best so she will check another store today.

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Have to bust my buns off at work today since I'm off the next few days. Hope to have a little last few days fun with my boys and get a few things done around the house so we are ready for school.
I can't believe August is almost over!!! Hoping for a nice September!

    1. Try making my own pita bread, I have had a recipe on the fridge for a month that I want to try.
    2. Cut more processed food out of our diet, especially lunch meat.
    3. Start exercising more regularly
    4. Christmas organization, i have bought a lot so I need to designate what I have and for whom and make a list of gifts i still need
I make all my own pitas. It's so friggin' easy, and so, so, so, so tasty. I use this recipe... http://heavenlyhomemakers.com/homema...eat-pita-bread

Last night I made a batch of apple porkchops. I use this recipe here... http://onceamonthmeals.com/gluten-fr...ps-and-apples/ I don't even bother browning the porkchops (I keep typing porkcops....so funny!) anymore. I just feel the apples, place in large baggies (I do 2 batches at once since I can get 1 tray of porkchops and it feeds us 2 meals), add ingredients, add porkchops, mush around and then freeze. If I ever can apples I think I'd try this one.... http://onceamonthmeals.com/apple-pie-pork-chops/ Every year I say I'm going to can some, and every year I don't. There is no apple trees here (and no Upick places) so they'd have to come from the grocery store and it's just so expensive).

The project for today is sesame chicken.... http://onceamonthmeals.com/gluten-fr...esame-chicken/ (I don't worry about gluten free vinegar, ect...) I make 3 meals out of this one.

I've been on vacation last week and this week and I've been trying to get some stuff in the freezer. Although I haven't done as much as I'd like. When vacation is over I head into 2 week long travel clinics which means I'll be gone Mon-Fri. So meals in the freezer is important if I want hubby and the kids to eat!

INsane, have you ever used that same recipe with white flour? I wonder if anything else would have to be changed...

I used the exact same one and got DH to cover them as they were at my bellybutton or lower. I couldn't see that I had any unless I used a few mirrors. We used about $45 of body butter and I have stretch marks galore!

So the take home message here is one needs to ensure one gets enough sleep throughout the day.
I have no idea how this works. In the morning, I woke, fed LO, changed LO, comforted her while she cried fitfully between waking and sleeping for the next 1.5 hours, put her down, had breakfast, and then she was up again for her next feeding within ten minutes. How do new moms sleep? I tried sleeping in her wake-sleep intervals but she might let me rest for about ten minutes before she wants to be picked up again.

Please post if you wish to accept the challenge and what your goal/challenge will be. It could be starting to bake like Frugalbigmama, or a trying a new recipe, talking your freezer (clean-out), learning to crochet, start your Christmas shopping, having your meals made ahead of time, etc....ANYTHING GOES!!!!
I would like to, but LO seems to have other plans whenever I make any. Maybe I should have a secret goal like coupon girl.

I popped out to do some shopping today-love my local Safeway which had Strip loin steak for 50% off as it is dated tomorrow-bought a few to freeze as we are having company this weekend. Not so in love with their price for 10 lbs of red potatoes for $12.99!!-I passed on those! Stopped at my local Target for the first time-very clean and tidy and nice staff but for the most part I wasn't blown away by prices. However they did have eggs for $1.50 a dozen which is a good deal and I found some noodle cups from Korea for 87 cents each and grabbed a couple of those just in case our student is pining for something familiar after a few days here-she arrives tonight.
