@wolfwoman -maybe it's time for a station with an aquarium cam or bird feeder cam. Nice background noise for doing something else.

Non-slip cross-trainers are not up to several hours of walking on city sidewalks. My ankles feel like they are trying to slip sideways out of my legs (usually I get shin splints if my legs have not had a long walk with uphill portion then they adjust on next trip). They are ok for 1 h walks but not 3h one way and then return.

We have Netflix too. The funny thing is that when I was browsing the DVDs at the checkouts at Target, I've seen most of them on Netflix.

We built a backyard oasis - 6 multi-level decks, huge inground pool, cabana, hot tub, tons of interlock....and all I want to do is travel.

I finally found a 3 bedroom apartment I really like with heat included (not electricity), a backyard, walking distance to ds1 school, free laundry in the apartment unit, its a duplex so we would have an upstairs and a downstairs and only 1 neighbor in the building. the rent is more than we can afford.

I guess we will have to stay in our 2bedroom basement apartment that has coin operated laundry machines right outside our side door (1$ washer, 1$ dryer that usually needs a 2nd dryer cycle for each load), also has heat included (but not electricity), but is a slightly shorter walk to ds1 school. and is in our budget.

why is it so hard to find an affordable place that takes kids even though its illegal to refuse kids most placed do.

My dd was doing that this afternoon, drove me crazy and made my head hurt, but at least she was outside, have a feeling winter is coming sooner rather than later and playing outside won't happen as much.

I have never heard of kids freaking out over vacuum, usually it is pets. Hopefully she will grow out of it or she is going to live with dirty floors forever,
