Good morning, everyone!!

I was awake from about 4:30-5:30, thoughts swirling like most ladies have experienced from time to time, but thankfully I did finally fall asleep and just woke up a short while ago.

I'm hoping it's a good sign that Hicks hasn't checked in this morning; it may mean that she did finally call an ambulance to get herself checked over. I sure hope so, poor kid...she needs all kinds of help right now! Living alone and having something like this happen...can't even imagine how difficult that would be. Hope nothing is seriously wrong, but happy to think she's being looked after.

No big plans for today, just a lazy Monday!

Hello folks!
Spent the whole day wrestling with red tape and we still don't have concrete plans for the funeral as no one is releasing any of the estate funds and the funeral director won't move forward until we can be sure just how it will be paid for. He is going to turn some screws tomorrow to help us get answers.

I have the service half written. I will be talking to a Catholic, a Buddhist, a non-practicing Christian, an atheist, and a Spiritualist all in the close family members. So wording is going to be a little tricky.

We spoke with lawyers, social workers, the funeral director, bankers, two very uncooperative security guards and some call centre posing as the Human Resources Dept. Of Union Gas today. We also heard about a pet cow's ashes being spread around Tobermory, so the day was not without smiles.(Or rather suppressed guffaws.)

I'm worried about Hicks. I really hope we haven't heard from her because they've kept her in the hospital because she has no one to look after her at home; they do that here, so I hope she's resting very comfortably tonight. Perhaps her son took Jake while she's in the hospital....

Wow! I didn't even know what a spiritualist was. I had to look that up! That is quite the challenge you have. I would think it would be important to touch on what your cousin personally believed most of all.
The one thing you all have in common is your love for her, so maybe just talking about her and what she contributed to everyone's life would be comforting?

Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be great.

Off to my girlfriend's home this morning to decorate her home for Christmas for when her hubby and daughters and spouse and boyfriend visit for the holidays!

@Lynn49 I am hoping that hicks is in a hospital bed as well! She really sounded like she did some damage with that fall, dang soldier she is for waiting the extra day! @Natalka hoping your sciatica pain is short lived, and thanks for the man bun laughs!!

I'll be an indoorsy lady today after seeing the frost on the lawns and roofs while walking the dogs this a.m. No driving duties today so I shall take full advantage of that.

Oh, I know, Walkonby...waiting overnight must have been agonizingly painful for her, but yep, she's a trooper, alright. The fact that she's not on here is encouraging; they must be taking good care of her in the hospital. I wonder who Jake is with, hopefully her son....

Avon, my Friend...let's hope the larger details are taken care of today and thank you for your phone call...you have so much on your plate, yet you worry about me. You are one very special Lady, and I just want everyone to know how kind and thoughtful you always are not only to me, but to everyone around you.

Walkonby: so another do-nothing-lazy-day for you? So what's changed, eh? Do try to change positions on that sofa once in a while, Dearie?

Natalka..ouch! Yes, take it easy today; it's so dang easy for that sciatica to break out and really put you out of commission for a long while.

I'm taking the van today to do a little grocery shop, then...hm...I do have a 50% off coupon burning a hole in my purse so I may have to nip over there and use it. More Christmas stuff!! I'm taking charge of dinner tonight for a change (hubby got into the habit of taking over dinner duties this past year, so I'm trying to relieve him more often on my good days), but no idea what to prepare; it may depend on what catches my attention at the grocery store.
