Natalka: they did a CT scan and said it was normal, no signs of stoke, brain bleed or anything else. The thing that annoyed me is that his most lucid moment was when the doctor was questioning him. Then when they were discharging him he was losing it again. I pointed out this was a man that 4 months ago competed in a full iron man and routinely rides his bike for 100km so this is not normal. He has just had some more meds and toast. The toast is the 1st food he has eaten since Wednesday. They did not even assess for dehydration. I did manage to get some Gatorade in him, his speech has returned to normal and he is walking solo. But if the confusion returns I am calling an ambulance. Then the paramedics will see him at his worst.
Thanks for everyone's thoughts. We are a healthy family so the ER is foreign to us. Last time he was in the hospital was after a cycling accident and he just rode 130 km 4 yrs ago. this certainly makes me appreciate our health.

Chilly here too-plan is to double check our packing and watch the 1 year old twins this afternoon. Then my brother and SIL are coming over for dinner so I better think about what to make. Not looking forward to the 17 hr trip to Buenos Aries, but going from -17 to 32 C I think we can handle. Adios.

    Good morning, everyone.

bff's Dad is still hanging in there, but the end is near. She's going home today to spend time with her Mom (she's been going back & forth from her place to her Mom's) for a few days. Her siblings are both being very supportive - it's so nice to see a close family.

Had a fun little day trip on Friday. Some friends & I went to the Warplane Museum in Hamilton. A lot of gorgeous aircraft and a few who have seen better days (one has been in the process of being restored for 20 years!). I learned all sorts of interesting things (the first G-suit was created at U of T). Here are a few photos.

Was supposed to have friends pop by for lunch & actually planned a big lunch for us. That means I have tons of food for the week, since they had to cancel at the last minute (both have come down with colds and don't want to send me to the hospital with their germs ). I know 2 brats who will be upset with me at the lack of company (what do ya mean no treat dispensers!) and will need to be placated with treats.

Better go finish cooking (sheesh! I'm becoming domesticated & actually having fun in the kitchen ).

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    @lilo0003

Sorry to hear about your DH. Just curious, did they do a full blood panel & urinalysis?

A few thoughts on what might be causing the issues:
1 - blood sugar fluctuations (not necessarily diabetes) - a blood test for A1C will show whether the levels are steady
2 - bladder or urinary tract infection (I got very loopy last time I had such an infection) - a simple urinalysis will show this
3 - change in medication (new med, sometimes if you take a generic form of a med then the filler used can be changed and the chemical make-up changes and folks can have an allergic reaction to the new filler - anything from blood pressure meds to aspirin can be a culprit)

That's all I can think of for the moment.
    Hope things improve quickly.

Andit: that's helpful info they did do blood but no urine and he takes no meds at all, in fact neither of us do and we are 49 this year. Yes we are healthy.
He is resting today, speech is clear and I have been able to get him hydrated so for the moment we are progressing. He reports some improvement so let's hope this continues.

I don't know if you had seen anything like this, so I thought I would post them.

This is my baby grand-niece Eva and her big sister Maya from the states - a friend of their auntie's made these for them.

Busy weekend and finally relaxing on couch! We made homemade burgers on the BBQ with ceaser salad for dinner. Bought the lean at No frills on for $3 lb and made burgers for tonight and 9 for the freezer for a future dinner. We picked up wonder buns on for $2 Less 30
% off and the romaine rang in for $5.98 when the sign said $4.99!! So free!! That made my day .
Made oatmeal for my breakfast and my snacks and lunch are ready for the day tomorrow. Last load of laundry is in the dryer. I'm done for the day.

Lilo I am glad your husband is turning the corner, I would still see my GP in the near future, just to cover all your bases.

We had a productive day here with projects around the house, we will continue on next weekend and install the other 3 doors downstairs, the funds were saved up which is a great feeling to pay for the doors and the hinges, etc.

Supper was whole roasted chicken with green peas, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy. There are enough leftovers for 2 lunches for dh and enough for 2 chicken sandwiches so that really stretched the grocery budget....win win.

Lilo did they check your husband's blood sugar levels? I once observed a colleague who was having a diabetic "incident" (I can't remember if her blood sugar was high or low but it was scary.) She had not told anyone she had diabetes and just started talking gibberish at recess. Thankfully, her trip to the hospital resulted in her getting the help she needed.

    Good Morning All,
Well I was supposed to be traveling this week but I cancelled my plans yesterday as I woke up extremely light headed, went back to bed and when I woke up I was not light headed but was having balance issues. I know it is my sinus and I am going to do my best to not end up on antibiotics, the last few times I have been on antibiotics they have thrown my stomach off and caused other infections. But I figure to be safe best to stay in the area just in case a trip to the doc is needed. Also happy I decided this as the weather sucks here right now, snow is really coming down and roads are bad.

Due to how I woke up yesterday not a lot got done. I did manage to break down a large bag of rice we purchased. I filled an air tight container to keep in the pantry and the rest was put in food saver bags and sealed to go in the stockpile room. Also sealed some buns I made last weekend, I made the dough and froze the dough so all we need to do is defrost and bake. As well the buns I bought I got for 50% off are in the freezer freezing so I can seal them in food saver bags. We used one package of ground beef for Pasta Sauce, Chili and Nachos but the other still needs to be broken down.

Tonight I will cook up some rice and tomorrow before Mom does to work she will make chicken in mushroom sauce (mushroom soup) which will be tomorrow night's dinner since she is closing. Now I just need to figure out tonight's dinner. Mom is on the 10 am to 6 pm shift which really throws off dinner as I cannot wait until she gets home to eat and then when she gets home she wants dinner but nothing heavy. I will work on this later.

Well back to work I must go stacks of papers to sort and deal with. Have a great day everyone.
