I'm ready to do laundry again. There is quite enough to do a full load without much scrubbing or pretreating. Of course, I check the weather and it is going to storm and rain all day Saturday with a high of 39C. 39C!!! Argh! No line drying tomorrow....

A floor register is broken in the dining room. Somehow, LO put her foot through it. She weighs more than the average 2-year-old and tips the scales into overweight. (Must be all the homo milk, whole wheat, and whole grains. I swear I'm not feeding LO chips all day! Those are reserved for Mom....) It looks like I will be gaining more than 13 pounds in the first eight months of this pregnancy unlike last time.

I'm sure it was already cracked, but now it definitely needs replacing. I looked at metal ones but we'll be replacing all our registers someday when DH's dream of hardwood flooring comes true one day. After shopping last night for registers, I've decided to replace the dining room one with one from the laundry room. I don't want to buy new just to replace a perfectly good one later. I'll feel better if it's actually broken. Ha ha!

I've brought out the maternity leave clothes and no one has asked or commented yet. I appreciate this no postpartum body shaming, though I have been asked if I was pregnant before (I was not). I read a story this morning where people should not ask if a woman is pregnant even if her water breaks and she is in labour. I suppose this will mean I will have to ask if a person is disabled if I need a seat at the front of the bus.

If someone asked me if I was pregnant when my water broke, I think I'd have to wonder what the alternative explanation would be!

^ sweet sparrow, wear what you like, eat what you like when you like, find some way to cut the stress - baby knows what's going on with you.

I'm so happy it's a cool day today, just in the teens - and it's very windy.

Have barely started making the master shopping list for next week - just haven't felt like it, and there won't be much which is necessary other than fresh items - unless there is a big sale on some things.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

How's the new computer working? Enjoy the cooler weather, the grocery list can wait a few days.

When you make potato salad do you leave the potatoes whole and then cube them or cube them 1st.I'm wondering which is the best way???

It's good to have the new computer, J&C - even though it's not a high-end one, the difference in speed is definitely awesome. Unfortunately, some of the problems from the old one have transferred, so my son will have to figure out what the heck is up with that! I know FF is a bit of a prob in combo with Flash Player, for example - and lots of people are having problems with that. Hoping he can find a fix.

One cool thing - old puter was Vista, this one is Windows 7. I hadn't used it yet to print out any coupons until several days ago - and was wondering what would happen since I hadn't installed any of the computer printing programs.
Well, it was almost magical - I don't remember which was the one I first used, but when I chose coupons to print from whatever site, I expected to get a message to download the printer program - BUT I just got a little message to wait a sec, and the computer did it automatically, then printed out the coupons. Yay for computer magic, lol!

And, for sure, I'm enjoying how cool it is in here - so are the cats - especially Vader, who has tons of fur and really finds it tough when it's hot.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening, everyone!

I feel your pain about the potatoes - got a 10lb bag last week from Co-op, they are just crap - and were pricey!

For potato salad, definitely cut them in large chunks for boiling, then cut them smaller once they are cooked - otherwise you might end up with mushy cubes.

    Mmmmm.... potato salad!

My post just disappeared while I was typing it.

Took the twins in the stroller and big brother on his tricycle to the park 4 blocks away. Most of the way there doesn't have sidewalks, so that was frustrating, trying to keep big brother going down the side of the street.

I sold more red rhubarb for $5. Resold baby girl's swim suit with built in swim diaper for $5, same $ I bought it for. It was posted for 1hr before someone contacted me and made arrangements to pick it up. I posted 3 baby girl sun hats for sale. She outgrew them and I already bought her 2 newer ones. I sorted a large box of baby girl clothes out of the nursery and out to the shed for our next sale.

Finally dropped per my truck off to get a new stereo installed in it. My CD player used to be a 5 disk changer, but it was only working on one slot and would refuse to give back the CD at times. The radio still works fine. Dh bought the stereo for me for Christmas. The installation was WAY more than I had expected and cost a lot more than the stereo itself. Not impressed about that. I have to remember that Dh wanted to give the stereo to me. I don't take my truck for long drives anymore, like last year's seemingly endless medical appointments and days teaching out of town. I'd enjoy a book on CD, but haven't done that since our twins were born last summer.

I just finished folding and putting away 5 loads of laundry. Only one load was washed today, the rest had been waiting. I'm just getting our twins down for their afternoon nap now. Big brother is still napping. I'm tired, but I'm going to continue tackling household chores. I need to get out in the garden either tonight or tomorrow morning.

We have been invited to 3 different things for tomorrow. We'll have to see, pick and choose. I'm going to the baby shower tomorrow afternoon. The other things are in the morning and I'm the evening, both are for the entire family and basically free.

Oh, and I just love rhubarb. I'd buy some if we lived closer.

-hubby's brother and his wife came last night and he put the railings back on our front porch -he is so handy and helpful
-my hatley order came from their super 2 day sale -I just love their clothing -well the ladies xl top I paid 12.99 for is cute but on line it said 100% cotton but it is like a jersey knit tight across my midsection a bit -so I am giving it to my hubby's sister-in-law as a nice gesture cause they are always helping us around the house inside and outside -I didn't want to pay shipping to send it back and she said so nice you thought of me she is a bit tinier than I am ,but the p.j top fits and the bottoms are so nice to a bit big I could have gotten away with a large but hey they are pj bottoms who cares -now I will have nice new p.js for when I go away with our grown kids instead of the other old ones
