I posted and sold in an hour a back pack and lunch bag. We don't buy new every year, my oldest is only on his second bag since grade 2. He is going into grade 11. He asked about a new one as his is looking pretty worn, I had the same bag I had used briefly as a laptop bag so he was happy to take my old one. I will wash his up and save it as a back up. I have seen loads of winter gear on the FB group this week.

Oh happy day! There's rain! I do hope it all gets out before 5 PM though when I have to walk to pick up LO from daycare. An hour walking in the rain in maternity clothes (limited number!) is not fun, nor is a soaking wet LO!

The used children's shop down the street will be opening soon. I noticed a bike selling for $15, but I see many at that price on kijiji. I can wait then.

Still pouring here! It's awesome. Eating my lunch at my desk then will go out for a bit.

Looked at the few upcoming flyers that are posted. Happy with the cheap veggies I see coming on sale! Will be a great week for cheap shopping and making great meals!

I can never remember whether it's hydro or gas that powers things in the home. Or which one affects what more. I still really like this toy though: http://www.ieso.ca/house/hydroone/default.htm and it's really handy to tell when to start the oven.

Busy busy getting the front and large back decks stained. We've let the treated wood weather for two years and so it's time. The front is done and first coat done on the back. We're using the Sansin stain - expensive but worth the cost. The prep was the most work - sanding especially. Good to get this off our list. Looks so good and hopefully will last the five years it is supposed to. We've been getting up at 6 am to stain so it is dry before the heat of the day.

Awesome! Nice to mark that off the list. I think staining has to be one of the worst jobs out there! I have 4 muskoka chairs that I stain (coloured stain). We seem did them last year and they still look good this year. We said we would do them in the Spring next year just to keep them nice. 2 of the chairs were old old old! My mother was tossing them. We painted them and they look like new!

    Good day!

Glad those of you who are wanting rain are getting it! I do love the rain, but we did have a plethora of it over the past two weeks, so it's nice to have mostly sunny weather again.
We've been having a few hot days, but it's okay thanks to the kitchen a/c.

Have to do a serious stock up on produce this week - all that's left in the house is 1/2 a cucumber - which is crazy!

@Angela273 hope you get some answers and feel a little more like yourself, does a heating pad help at all?

Well I am declaring no more grocery shopping with exception ketchup (I forgot it today) while out and MIlk.

This month has been way too expensive so I'm declaring no more spending unless it's been budgeted for which is a very small list (mortgage, veh ins., car insurance, gas).

I've made a few trades within the last few days with Dec. expiries which is great.

    Wishing everyone a wonderful evening,

Budget is more tight with government maternity/parental EI gone and some back to school/work expenses to consider. I have cashed in $50 air miles for groceries. I ordered $100 gas card from VISA points. I will do PC points this week, $60. Doing what I can to stay in the black until I start back to work. I was going to save everything until Christmas, but I have $ in that fund and would rather enjoy what is left of summer.

Sold: more books $9 (doing a drop off because she could not find my house and it is on the way to a destination and that is easier than finding another buyer!)
car seat covers for infant seat $2
=overnight beach trip next week with DH's family...almost have enough!

    Bought:
Car seat $50 (ours are all expiring so I am trying to find good sales or second hand ones I trust, this one was bought on a trip in Alberta and only used for 4 weeks, the manufacture date is less than 2 months old!!!)
Portable high chair $15 (for my mom's, she needs one for when she watches DD3)
-I am trying to pick up a couple of things that the Gramma's need second hand as I see them since they are watching DD3 and we do not have child care expenses

    AND YIKES!
    $80 on shoes
-3 pairs: one indoor pair for each of the older girls and a pair of rubber boots for the oldest
-they were on sale at The Shoe Company, but no start the car deals
-Both girls still have a pair I bought there last summer and they are going strong...I don't mind spending a little more for the quality...surprised their feet haven't grown though since last year...and thankful...that means outdoor shoes can wait until the spring (well, winter sales!!!)

I am feeling pretty lucky this year. Both boys are still wearing shoes bought ages ago and don't need new for school, pants still fit both. I expect the older son to need new pants by November as he has grown to 6 ft so I expect he will have another growth spurt. All we bought for back to school is socks and a 2 pairs of shorts for Logan. He just had a growth spurt and his shorts are too short. I was able to get them for 8.00 a pair at Target. They don't even care for a new outfit for the 1st day of school.

Update: I have been feeling much better as each day passes. My abdomen is still a bit sore, but not by much anymore. I'm also not experiencing major discomfort after eating a meal, though I do feel like my stomach has shrunk and I've had to reduce my regular meal size somewhat.

SIL's gofundme page has stalled at $2,295, the goal is $4,000. She posted an update regarding hef condition. Dh and I donated $100.

    SIL's update post.
Thank you to everyone for all of the support we have received!!!! I am getting stronger everyday but still need a lot of physical therapy to get standing and walking. I will be receiving a round of chemo near the end of August. It is to be every 28 days. I am also on large amounts of steroids so if you see me that's why my face looks like I swallowed a watermelon. They need to continue this process for at least a year is what I was informed of yesterday (August 10).

I have amazing doctors working with me so I am very blessed. Thanks again to everyone from donations to prayers!!!!

I have a babysitter booked for tomorrow while I renew my First Aid, CPR/AED training for the umpteenth time. Expensive but important thing to spend my money on tomorrow.

Daycare update: There he a delay in the move of my 3 daycare boys, so I don't need to find new daycare kids just yet. Although my son knows their names, he often calls them "my boys" and "my brothers" when talking about them as a group.

Hope things get better for you, Granger!

It's 5 a.m. and I haven't been to sleep yet - third day in a row this has happened, way worse than my 'usual' insomnia.
Hoping I can get some sleep when I wake my husband up for work.
