I guess I'm going to your house for Christmas Eve dinner...lol..we always have baked salted cod fish. Our stories are similar, my dad passed away a couple of years ago and he was the one that did the herring for us. I haven't tried pickle cabbage, I've had salted cabbage but I don't think that's the same.

Apparently there is chili in fridge, not usually a fan but will mix with some pasta and there is dinner and no need to cook

Just placed 2 fresh whole chickens into a roast pan ( ty FreshCo sale!! each bird was $6.50 ) will make cooked carrots and fresh green beans for sides. Making dinner early in case I doze off later....ha ha

We anticipated having the leftover soup yesterday but we were still full from a late lunch... so soup is on the menu tonight. And maybe some garlic bread.

Not sure exactly what we are having for supper tonight. I pulled out a small package of moose steaks for Dh to fry up. I'm sick and currently waiting at the doctor's office, so we'll see what I feel up to cooking later.

Well I took out beef to make homemade burgers and serve with Greek salad. But he will be home late from work so Chinese it is! Burgers tomorrow night

gonna make fried rice with whatever in the fridge (rice, chinese sausages, snap peas, frozen veggies medley, ground pork, shrimp, mushroom) and i think that's all i can put in this dish lol
