On the radio, I heard the man interviewed who was in the first grey van - he said no one was hurt, he himself had a sore back and neck. Also because it wasn't rush hour, there weren't many people on the buses.
Had a sliding experience in my late teens, one of my sisters was driving.
We were going down a street in our hometown, and it wasn't a hill, just a slope.
There was glare ice, and you could just feel the car slide - and nothing you could do about it.
It was late evening, and even though we were one block off the downtown, there were no other vehicles on the street.
As we kept sliding - and it was slow - I said to my sister that we were going to hit the light pole - as we slid diagonally, and the pole was at the end of the block. Sure enough, we hit it. I don't remember how much damage was done to her car, we weren't hurt.
Many times since then, though, I've had dreams about that incident - not really fearful or anything, just that sheer feeling of helplessness because nothing could be done...
On to happier things! Hope everyone has a great day today!

Good morning folks! Gave myself until 8:30 to "lounge around" the web, so I had better get up! Cleaning person coming at 12:30, PSW coming at 2:00, nurse coming at??? My respite time- 3:00 til 6:00. Hoping to buy Sadie's dog tags today. I have to get to an Optometrist soon before I can't read the Optometrist's sign! So sorry to hear about the doggies' tummy troubles! "Play All Day" Elmo arrived yesterday. I really could have ... squeezed his nose all day!😄

Good morning, everyone!
@walkonby , jeepers, I'm so sorry for Murphy and Rufus and of course, YOU! Seems like Murphy gave Rufus his doggie-flu? I hope the vet straightens this out very soon, Hon.
@Natalka ...I had a similar experience and omgoodnes, yes, the feeling of helplessness! We were driving back from the game in GreenBay, and I took over the driving on I75 (iirc), and it's double lanes separated by a very, very wide, gently sloping green-belt between them. Now this was winter, and I was in the inside lane passing a car, clear road, when I hit black ice! I took my foot off the gas, but it was too late, we went into a really fast skid towards the divided part of the highway. DH and I looked at each other, thinking this may be it, as we thought we would skid right into the oncoming lane!!! Thank God we slowed to a stop (the only time I can say I loved snow!), and breathed sighs of relief. DH took the wheel, drove back onto the highway and on we went towards the Sault, then home. The Sault was in white-out conditions, I wanted to stop at a hotel, but DH kept driving.....again, thank God we got home safely!! Which is why we watch games like the last one in GreenBay when it was snowing (they had to keep plowing the lines to see them!) and remember that day and vow never to go to another late season game there again!!
Everyone!! Have a wonderful day!! Stay safe, no skidding, no falling!!

YAY, 'the kids' are coming over for nibblies after DD's work on Friday!! Woohoo!! Between her busy work schedule (9-10hr days), her being away at a conference last week, I've sure been missing her. Seems the vibes got to her, and they're coming over! I've always loved to entertain and this is so special.
Now...to plan a 'nibbly' menu.. I may even have a glass of wine, too!!

Awesome @Lynn49 , we just love when DD and hubby bring our grandsons over. With their busy schedule we hardly see them anymore, can't believe the change in the kids every time we see them. Thank God Christmas is coming we get to enjoy them and spoil (lol) them a lot more.

Oh, isn't it wonderful, though? But how they keep up their schedules is beyond me...she used to take time off and invite us to lunch at least a couple of times a month but her business has grown so much, we end up emailing or texting for heaven's sake! And she was so giddy over the phone just now because she finally figured out what to get me for Christmas...naturally I told her I don't need anything and no, there isn't a particular thing I want, so it'll be interesting! She always seems to find just the right thing for everyone, though!!
How old is your Grandson @dededi ? Ours is 8, in Grade 3...

Happy Thursday everyone. @Lynn49 , Our grandsons are 5 and 3. The youngest really scares me sometimes, no fear of anything. The two of them are completely opposite of each other.
