Good morning folks! Managed to get a tiny few presents wrapped last night. I wrap all the presents for one person in the same wrapping paper and put a hint on the gift card. My tradition that we open one present at a time and everyone hears the hint. (Also made it easier for -former "little ones" who are now taller than me- to find gifts to deliver to a certain person.) So if the paper has Santas, it's for your dad...if it has snowmen, it's for your brother...etc.
A friend is coming over at 10 for a cup of tea and to run some errands for me. It's frigid out there today - but not Natalka kind of frigid.
Cabby, I saw those crayon+canvas kits on sale at Michael's last week. Sorry, can't remember how much.
Boy what a shock to your system it must have been, Newfiescreech to arrive in Toronto after being in a sunny, warm climate!
Dededi, I love those little buddies in your pic, - one with a tiny tail and one without.
Lynn- a friend in Kitchener took a fall on the ice and broke her hip. She had surgery and is on the mend. Oiy! She was just here last week with her husband offering us help. They usually go south by this time each year.
Keep warm and safe, folks!

Welcome 'home' @Nwefiescreech. I hope you had a wonderful time in Cuba. We missed you.
This may be my last post today. We'll see.
I have a meeting @ the church this morning, then I've got to prep for dinner & an evening with a friend.
Another friend coming in the morning tomorrow for 'breakfast'.

Thank you Cabbie. I over-did it yesterday so today is just attending our GS's Christmas Concert at school, so nothing to rigorous. I can only sit long enough to get through his Gr 3 performance; those chairs just aren't comfy. Besides, there's standing-room only for parents and there's always a couple who appreciates us leaving. But boy do they do it up big at that school! It really is an adventure and pleasure attending and our GS is so happy to have his 2 sets of Grandparents there. Mom and Dad attend the 7pm performance.
@22hicks, moss sure doesn't stand a chance with you, does it? You just never stop moving! I imagine everything will quiet down for everyone after the busy season; we could all use the rest!
@avoncallingu...omg...your poor Friend! How kind and thoughtful they've been to you and your DH in the past couple of weeks, I just can't believe she fell and broke her hip!! How awful! She's in for a long recovery, poor muffin....and it's particularly sad at this time of year. I hope she's resting comfortably at home, and I know her DH will take good care of her, too.
@Newfiescreech...Cuba??!!! That's where I want to go with 'the kids', but whereas they and my DH would rather linger on a resort and 'rest', I want to stay right in Havana and immerse myself in the culture, the food, everything!! I hope one day to be well enough so that we can travel again. I'm so jealous of everyone in NYC right now; I want to do back there so badly!!!
Everyone, have a wonderful day!! It's frigid out there today, and if it wasn't for our GS's concert I sure wouldn't be venturing out! But that school does it up so beautifully, it's actually a real pleasure to attend!
STAY SAFE, everyone!!

The guests & I have been singing, we've sang Silver Bells & Deck the Halls,
I hope none of you are out there in those crowded shopping malls.......
Loocie is at home wrapping presents & I hope that you like yours,
Maybe I got you a Chia- Smart- Canuck or maybe it's something that pours,
Maybe I got you a basket of cheese, that comes with crackers & grapes,
Maybe I got you a paint by numbers or something sparkling for you to traipse,
Maybe I got you a novel that is 1070 pages of adventure & steamy intrigue,
Maybe I got you gift card for a spa, so you can massage away all your fatigue,
Maybe I got you a bathrobe that is styled in retro chenille,
Maybe I got you a video game that comes with its own steering wheel,
Maybe I got you cologne, so you can be at your fragrant best,
Maybe I just have tidings to share, so you all know that you are blessed,
I would like everyone to know, that I hold you in the highest regard,
I am extending this festive greeting in my attempt to be avant-garde,
I have hope for many good happenings, as we set our bells to chime,
Merry Christmas to everyone & may next year find us together one more time.

oh joy!! ( NOT!!!) It is snowing and blowing and is freezing cold out right now. The cloth awning on the 3 seater swing did not survive last night, it is now a tatter of rags hanging off the pole structure.

Ours went kaput a put a few years ago, @walkonby, so I used it as a pattern and sewed a new one out of sun- resistant fabric, scalloped edges and all! We liked it more than the original grey one. We haven't used it since we got the gazebo since the swing is under it. Now THERE'S a winter project for you!
Bitterly cold here, too, but sunny. I might have asked DH to take me to the mall or something, but brrrr...it's better to be snuggled in today!
@cabmonk, they look interesting, don't they? Know anyone with a heat gun?Last edited by Lynn49; Thu, Dec 15th, 2016 at 03:51 PM.
