What's For Dinner?

Last night's supper was a variety of things. I made my smoky apple salad.

Tonight we had KD, fried ham sausage, boiled veggies, sugar snap peas, and a glass of milk.

I don't complain about food much but this evening I had Pita Pit, chicken, but it was basically iceberg lettuce stuffed in a pita

When you are such a good cook it's hard to get a decent meal out We have the same problem. My man is an amazing cook and we are usually disappointed when we eat out.

Will be making a vegetable rice with Italian sausage cut up and mixed in the rice.

Smoked back bacon on a bun.

I spent over a year trying to find a back bacon (not peameal) that was as close as possible to the back bacon on a bun I enjoyed for years as a kid from the food building in the CNE that is held every year in Toronto. Victoria meats on Yonge Street in Bradford.

I had leftover pasta with meatballs and tomato sauce.
Husband just came home from after-work Christmas party, so if he's hungry there are other leftovers for him. Usually at those parties he just eats meat, lol!

Tonite was home made soup for sick girlie lol .. guess hot temperatures at Cuba and cool temperatures in Toronto, Halifax, Goose Bay ,Newfoundland got me good .

Its Tibb's Eve!! We had pizza & wings this evening..luckily my family here is familiar with Tibb's eve lol

We celebrate Christmas tonight with Sviaty Vechir - the Holy Supper. All foods must be meatless and dairy-free.

Since there are only three of us, I don't make all 12 traditional foods though.

pyrohy - perogies with potato and onion
holubtsi - cabbage rolls, rice with onions baked in tomato sauce
mushrooms and gravy
sauerkraut with peas and lots of garlic
sauteed onions to go on everything...

assortment of sweets for dessert - though no one ever has room til much later!
