Some good news about my brother in law. He is able to move his fingers and is eating solid food! I baked toll house cookies yesterday and he ate them! I hope this helps him stay positive He is still in ICU

That is good to hear. An apetite is also a good sign. Hospital food isn't usually that good, so I am sure the cookies were appreciated.

Thanks..I sent him all his favourite drinks and some jello--not really thinking he would be able to eat the cookies-but I made them really soft just in case--I thought he could share with everyone that visits

Modern medicine has made many advances with spinal injuries these days, so there is hope for improvements as the doctors determine what to do. I'm praying that all that is possible will be done on his behalf. So sad that this has happened; it will be a tough time for him and for the family.
He'll need all the support he can get to adjust to the shock, cope with the hospital stay, and deal with rehab.
Will keep you all on my prayer list.

I have been surrounded by family lately, I love spending time with all our kids, grandkids and close friends but it seems that for the last few days I have not had more than a few moments to myself. I overdid it of course and spent the last day with company not being able to function its really embarrassing.

Not being able to function does indeed suck, but I would hope others understand. It is so difficult to be in our position, and want to do even

I took my DD to Timmies to walk and talk her.
Now I feel so worn out,pukey, and dinner is not going to be made by me, nor eaten by me.
Despite it all, it was worth it(I think).

Way to go, Skippy; kids remember when their parents spend quality time with them, even though they may not show appreciation. Later on it comes to mind and is just one more link to make the bond stronger.

^ I hope that is true..I feel so guilty all the time..that I can't do the things I want to do with my son. We are taking a pizza party to the hospital tonight--to cheer up my brother in law. The rest of his family is a wedding-and he is sad he can"t go and the dr. saw him today and he said nope you will not walk!!!!What an a**hole!!!! I am so mad..I know dr.s say stupid things to me all the time but when it happens to him--I want to go break the dr. legs!!!
