When you find a dress you love, you are set! Congratulations on your son doing so well during the game! Moments like that make all the practice games and away games worthwhile. Have you consider speedskating, @Frugalbigmama ? You could own the podium!

I want your son's success in finding pants to wear, @lilo0 03! Sunday was a humdinger-gave everyone summer vibes until the rain fell, then it was where are the warm clothes? Definitely a hot meal evening.

Would the warm climate and reasonable cost of living be worth trading off access to some chain stores just to enjoy the peace and quiet? I don't know if Osiyoos (the sole desert in Canada unless someone has more current info) is popular as a retirement place. Victoria is popular but with ferries being one's way of connecting the mainland (unless you have personal transportation or could afford to hire a service), cost would be a factor. Kelowna BC has some popularity but it's near wildfires. Sibling's friend has family living near that area. Someone I met at the bus stop in town told me so many apple orchards in BC are giving way for vineyards in the interior. If you and DH are keen on wine, you might explore options in wine zones for retirement.
In BC though, you have to pay for your health card and your health insurance. In Ontario, there are communities geared towards retirement (you don't pay for a health card). Not sure if any place near Lake Ontario has any warm climates but you can count on water (rain).2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

@Angela273 -you have clothing shopping deals! You might want to find some things for you. This month might be ideal for orange tops, in case there is future campaigning in your future.
@Coupon_girl -the weather fluctuations is nudging sneezes and sniffles into higher frequency. See if adding some of your favourite spices or herbs into meals helps to stave off colds or coughs. Given your many visits to Toronto, you and DH have had some lovely weather for the drives!
I want to find a mild way to use ginger in meals that does not involve slices in boiling water or soups or rice. Think I have a quick pickled ginger recipe in my binder.
@SassyAshley -yes, agree on meal prep saving the week. Or at least when you get one thing prepped (warm-up mode), then it's easier to carry on with making things you want for other meals. Love your grocery deals!2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

But you have amazing speed on your lunch breaks and after work hours! I think you'd make a great speedskater!

Yesterday afternoon Dh took our son out to fly a kite. I had our twins in the back yard with me. I pulled all the old zucchini, cucumber, and tomato plants. I’m leaving the swisschard in the garden over the winter. It provides a great home for insects over the winter, particularly the lady bugs. I put some of the old plants in the garbage and left the lid open on the van so that lady bugs had the opportunity to escape. The other plants are waiting in a pile, I’ll put them in the can after garbage day. I rescued the lady bugs that I did spot.
Today was a better Kindergarten day. I had two drop-in kids for the morning. It is hard having drop-in kids, they often cry because my place is new to them and they often aren’t used to being away from their mom. It’s a lot of work, but I’m still glad to make a little extra money.Last edited by Angela273; Mon, Oct 16th, 2017 at 10:55 PM.

We went to my mom's for thanksgiving. Then a medical apt in Edmonton. (I love having specialist Apts travel covered for working at an isolated post). We splurged and stayed a couple extra nights to visit a cousin and do some shopping. I cashed in 220 Worth of pc points for groceries and we started some Christmas shopping with a 50 percent off Michaels coupon. We did spend other places but we're careful about not going overboard.
While at mom's I wrapped Xmas gifts I had shipped there because It costs so much to mail from here.
I also had splurged on Halloween costumes for the boys in September. Link from Zelda and a ghillie suit, the boys got home tonight and first thing they did was try them on and pose for us. Oldest (16) crawling thru the kitchen in stealth mode telling us we couldn't see him had tears rolling down my cheeks I was giggling so hard. Knowing they are pleased is worth the splurge.

Morning! Chilly here too. I broke down and turned on the furnace last night .
My man made a wonderful dinner last night, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans. Best part is I have leftovers for my lunch today. Busy day for me with work then DS has school volleyball tournament in a town 20 mins away and then we have a hockey game an hour away! So I will not be getting anything done at home tonight since we won't get home till about 10:45pm. Good thing I am off tomorrow with my honey. Our planned mid-week date day. Taking a drive up North to check out the Fall colours and it is suppose to be a sunny day which is great .
Tomorrow night I need to get moving on posting crap for sale. Hoping this weekend I can start wrapping Christmas gifts

Well the main flyers I shop from are posted and happy there isn't much I want. We are pretty stocked up which is nice. Will be a cheap shop for the week. Hoping the strawberries are nice so I can buy a few packages and we can enjoy them all week long.
