permission NOT to make anything was granted to me by DH and DS!! They are taking responsibility for what their work meal will be tonight. I suspect that just means a store bought roasted chicken grabbed on the way in.....lol , but at least I don't have to cook.
On the weekend I'll batch cook some things for sure.

BBQ chicken thighs, steamed broccoli and penne pasta with tomato sauce.

I recently got turned onto a new brand of store bought sauce.

I found it at the Independent Grocer in Belleville. I have since ordered a case on Amazon.

I really want something with a nice Gravy, comfort food feel so tonight I am going to make Meatballs in Mushroom Gravy over Mashed Potatoes.

We have some potatoes that need to be used up so I am going to make a large batch which I can use later in the week as well, Love planning ahead

    aw, thanks @lizzie bargain .
I seem to be part enthusiastic cook ( as in I love to do it!! ), part resentful cook ( as in why do I always have to do it? ) with a heaping dash of forgetfulness that keeps me heading back into the kitchen.
Like this morning....I could've easily have sat petting the dogs all morning but instead I made a massive Shepherd's pie and a cream cheese dip, the taco spiced layered one with grated cheddar and diced veggies.
I stopped short of making the clam chowder I had planned because I had forgotten to save a few spuds to dice into the soup.
( mashed up all the available spuds onto the Shepherd's pie )

    There is always tomorrow!

I made a pot of lentil soup and DH made fresh buns to go with it. Simple dinner on a cold day.

I totally feel this, I love to cook but some days I wish little fairies would come in and cook for me.

I could have spent today chilling on the couch watching Netflix and Crocheting but instead I made, Oatmeal with Quinoa, Chicken Parm Soup & Ham and Potato soup. Hopefully Breakfast and Lunches will be covered for a few days.

Oh and with Dinner I am making a huge pot of mashed potatoes cause I have potatoes to use up but will use the leftovers for meals later in the week.

I was going to make a Balsamic Pork Roast but discovered we were low on Balsamic Vinegar but I did have enough to make Balsamic Mustard Marinated Pork Chops. We will have this will Marinated Roasted Veggies and either rice or potatoes, will see how I feel once dinner time rolls around
