Enjoy the trip to Nashville @danger_dan .

Well we got only about 2" of snow, very wet & heavy though.

A belated rabbits, rabbits, rabbits. You definitely beat me @avoncallingu . I haven't been feeling very well the past couple of days, but some better this morning.

He came in from work tonight to find her bleeding and back legs paralyzed, so some of you with cats probably recognize this as FATE ( Feline aortic thromboembolism ) .

The worst part is he has no way of knowing when she suffered the blood clot thing, so he feels heartbroken that she may have spent hours alone in the apt. crying out in agony. We know she had a pretty decent long life but he understands that she may not fully recover to walk again, and even if she did the heart condition will never go away and she will most certainly have another episode.
He works pretty long hours each day and that won't change so if she recovered she would still have to be alone most of the day. He may have accepted how selfish it would be to prolong her suffering with a battery of tests and procedures.
We have all been sobbing ( DS, DD and myself ) over the phone. He just had a paw print made in clay to keep a memory of her...oh gosh, I can barely handle this!
OMG @walkonby , I just read this, and I started to cry too.
I'm so sorry you all had to go through that, but it's nice that you shared memories of her.

@ 22hicks - Well, they got it half right, anyway

@ danger_dan - We ended up with a massive pile of about a half centimetre of snow. It was gone by mid-morning. That system was enormous, glad it pretty well missed us. Man, they were making such a big deal about 'the storm of the season' yesterday. Bah. And have fun in Nashville

We did get the white stuff last night. @GoJays , the system looked massive! Not sure what happened though, although I'm happy we didn't get as much as forecasted. @Lynn49 , I'm east...but not as far east as Coubourg, and definitely not Kingston...Kingston would make for one hell of a commute into Toronto each day!

We ended up getting less than an inch on our driveway (mostly blowing snow), less on the roads, and virtually nothing on the 400 series coming into work.
Here's hoping the next few days of milder weather does this stuff in, in short order.

Going to be a busy day at work here, gotta get a bunch of stuff done as I'm not in on Monday or Tuesday.
The Lady and I are heading down to Nashville to visit with her Bestie and husband and our newborn nephew , born New Years Day.

Have a wonderful day, weekend, and beginning of next week folks.
See you back here next Wednesday.

@danger_dan have fun in Nashville and enjoy your visit with your nephew. Safe trip

ditto here as well! ( wrt the snow warning ) I was all set to go out this morning to clean off the vehicle and shovel a path, etc. but no need! I was grateful for that.

A big ty once again for the concerned comments posted about Dot. She sure will be missed, but our DS is now beginning that transition period. I don't think he has been " alone-alone " before.
Also Dot was de-clawed ( a decision I hastily made when we brought her home and I regretted it so much after I found out how truly cruel the procedure is! )
We vowed never to do it to another cat we had ever again.
That being what it was, DS had the benefit of her NOT destroying his place....so if he does ever decide to get another cat....he may be in for a shock at the clawing they do.

Yikes, here it is afternoon already! I dropped DD to work early, then came home to sit and fold a bazillion towels....oh I exaggerate but there were many!!
Then I baked a double recipe of PB cookies. No reason, just felt like some PB cookies I guess. What a scandalous thing to do by having my oven on in PEAK Hydro hours!! But Mmmmm they turned out so yummy!

Hope everyone is enjoying their own version of TGIF!!!

Sometimes you just gotta break the energy rules, right @walkonby ? Wish I had one or two of those pb cookies to go with my nice cup of afternoon coffee.

I am a week ahead with the "Leap Forward " message we don't turn the clocks ahead until next week. Good thing I checked, because I would have shown up at church an hour early.
I have torn up literally years of receipts and paperwork today. Whew!

Tootie, it seems, has an abdominal hernia and will need it fixed and to be spayed. It will happen soon, as we are trying to avoid her going into heat again which would delay the surgery and also increase the risk that the hernia might get to a point where she might need emergency surgery. Poor little tyke! Poor mummy's bank account!

So, I had better get these income taxes done in the hopes that there might be something coming back!

Need to hit the sack and get a certain doggie to bed.

    Good night, folks.
