So, another lime pie lover, @danger_dan ? I didnt know it was so popular. Their friends aren't coming to camp this weekend so his buddy's is in our freezer. Their friends have a 2 1/2yr old and if it's dreary it's a little more difficult for them. We all have such fun together playing "golf", the card game and of course both guitars come out with the campfire. Meanwhile our GS is presently out kayaking with a friend. Gah! Scary for a Baba, but life is different now, I guess.

If you ever want the recipe for that pie, just let me know.

Meanwhile here's a 2 ingredient one for you two: 1 large can of crushed pineapple (20 oz), 1 box Betty Crocker angelfood cake, grab a huge bowl, stir the two together, (it ges very poofy!) dump into a lightly greased 9x13 pan, bake @350 for 30-35 minutes! Enjoy! Mine was gone in one sitting with them last weekend!

best movie ever!!! I just watched The One And Only Ivan on Disney Plus! 10/10
THEN after I watched it ( btw, I cried my eyes out during most of it ) I discovered this movie was based on a real silver back gorilla named Ivan!
He did eventually pass away in 2014 at 50 years old which in itself is an incredible long life, but Ivan's early story was mostly tragic and then humans finally did the right thing!

I am currently trying to get off sugar. It's hard but, as my nutritionist says, "It's not my friend. "

Big meeting this afternoon about the re-opening of our Bistro- we can also now have take-out.

Only 22 people- socially distanced at each of 3 meetings. Potential conflict about another topic they intend to bring up.

Then a rehearsal- also socially distanced at 6.

Well, gotta go eat my "as-sugar-free-as-I-can-make-it" breakfast.

A quiet day here at camp; usually there's always something planned by the owners but of course not this year.
Dd and Gs just popped over after their couple km morning walk, I just stepped out of the shower, yep...a slow start to the day.😊

@avoncallingu , purge your kitchen of anything with sugar in it, you'll be fine. A veggie omelet for breakfast. Good luck...when it's your health, it won't be difficult. 🍅🥑🌽🌶🥒🥦🍄🥕

I may ask my Hubby to drive me to a big antique store down the way today, just to poke around. Last week I picked up a set of vintage cookie cutters, heart, club, diamond and spade, 50cents each.

@avoncallingu I know that battle with sugar well.
There have been numerous attempts to go off it altogether, I have had great success, many times........until I crack and get a little overconfident.

I innocently open up the door to let a little sweetness in, then the spiral follows, and as quick as that I am once again addicted and elbowing people to get to the last danish.

Just do the very best you can, maybe start small if you cannot fathom the thought of tossing out all your pantry items the first day ( you'll be stunned at how many have sugar in them )

It is seriously nap time here....got up super early to watch that Disney movie and now my eyelids are so heavy. Nighty night for now all.

Iam sick sick. I presume it is side - effects from the strongest med I am on.


My nyephew is also ill - he has been in the hospital for three days, no decrease in size, pain or redness. Gosh it can be a rude disease Hoping he heals quickly.
He is athletic and a good eater, so my fingers are crossed.

Oh, my, I actually slept last night and into the morning. Mind you, that was after two nights of absolutely no sleep. This is not a pattern I want.

Husband went with our son to a liturgy at the cathedral last night for my MiL, then they had snacks. Gosh, I really hate missing out on these things...

Nothing else new other than just not getting around, unfortunately. It just sucks.

Woke to big thunder this morning, thank goodness the worst has passed and we have our satellite back on. We enjoyed the campfire and chatting until midnight, soooooo...a quiet day if knitting and reading.

@Natalka , I hope you're having a better day today after another good night's sleep.

@walkonby , I don't think I'd be able to watch that movie as much as I'd love to, it looks amazing. How did your cake turn out?

good day all. Well.....it WAS a good day until I tuned in to start watching the Blue Jays game. It was 2-0 for the jays....hooray and then within moments it was 3-2 for the Rays!! Grrrrr, I must have been the bad luck charm, so I have stopped watching hoping they can take the lead back and win game 3.
@Lynn49 , the cake looks amazing, smells so wonderful BUT.....I am not serving it until later tonight so I don't know the taste, texture or sweetness yet. Talk about an easy recipe.....if you can call that a recipe, ha ha
