It sounds like we're all looking at cutting back costs and expenses for 2022. We pay way too much for our Cogeco (TV/Internet but have a super fast speed) we are hoping the Bell will upgrade to fibe here soon so we get a lower deal.

Speaking of deals, I went out today to SDM. Oh I must look closer at the flyer, I figured that since I could do a bonus redemption today, the sales must be on as well... not the case. I ended up doing a redemption for 160 . I did miss a SCOP opp because I was loading my own bags. The energizer batteries were on sale for 12.99 and rung up at 19.99....totally missed it. I'm going to go back next week and return them and repurchase to get the points.
I then went over to Metro (It was SO BUSY there. The cashier said it always is at the end of the month). I stocked up on a ton of broth, tomatoes, ground beef etc. I redeemed 60 airmiles there. I'm trying to keep our bills lower this month since the stock markets have been so volatile.
I've decided that our PC points and AM will go towards the new SS fridge this year. It's an awesome incentive for me to try harder to save.
My coupon savings will go towards our cottage rental in September.
Bank rewards and savings will go towards basement and fitness

Have a wonderful evening and hope people are having fun maximizing their PC points

We recently found a small red puddle where I park my van, so I got it into the shop. Unfortunately it needed a more expensive repair and they had to order in the parts. The radiator was leaking and got replaced today. I fuelled up my van and it is road worthy for next week…potential out of town teaching. We just finished doing major repairs on Dh’s vehicle a month ago. Ugh…this amount of vehicle repairs was not in our budget.

Today was the last day of this teaching contract. I packed up my personal items from the clsssroom and the next teacher was already moving in.

I have reached out to multiple schools to let them know that I’m now available to substitute teach, but no calls yet.

We may pay a bit more then others but we have a higher speed internet for my working from home. They have suggested I should be able to lower our speed and not have an issue but not willing to risk it.

Also, when it comes to TV we have one of the larger packages. We are not ready to cut cable, it is our "thing." Even before Covid this was our entertainment, we do not go to theaters or various other activities but we do enjoy watching a wide variety of TV programs.

Although I did laugh this year when I renewed they offered me Disney+ "free" for a year but for a year of free Disney+ and to keep the rest of my package the same would cost me an extra $40/month. I might as well just pay for Disney+. Instead I was able to lower our package by $5/month

    Happy Saturday Everyone,
This last week was a super long week but in a different way. I am just not feeling myself this week. I kind of feel like my body is off, my sinuses are bothering me but it doesn't feel like an infection, my jaw started hurting and I do not know why, might be my wisdom tooth. My sleep has been off. I just feel like I am struggling with my own body. Hoping next week will be a better week.

I got on a real roll with work yesterday, I had been planning to take a break to deal with house stuff but it did not happen. I was enjoying knocking things off my work to-do-list. I can admit I am struggling with balance right now, there is a lot going on at work, a lot of good things and I feel like I can really prove what I can do. Normally when these project or tasks come up I cannot volunteer or take them on because so many other things are happening, I am covering people so there seems to be this sense I cannot handle these things to move to the next level at work. This time I was able to be part of it but now I want to do all of the things, prove I can take on all of the things but it makes me want to ignore everything but work.

Today, I need to get off my laptop and tackle some house stuff. Mostly just the general tidy up, the kitchen and bathroom floor need to be cleaned, the upstairs hallway needs a good tidy and Mom wants to organize her craft stuff so we can move the health walker up.

There are a few things here or there we could pick up for groceries on sale but nothing really must-have this week. Maybe this is the week to try to go to Costco. I thought about going this morning but at -30, nope. We still are not allowed to bring bags into Costco to pack out groceries in the store so between having to pack the groceries outside and then hauling them in (oh to have an attached garage) it is just too cold.

Happy Saturday Everyone and for all of those under the Extreme Cold Warning, keep warm.

Good morning everyone . It’s very cold out .

Was out at RCSS at 7 this morning to take advantage on some of the PCO points days offer. Wanted to PM with SDM the Royale tiger towel. I posted my deals in the Brag section. Was happy that I went out early RCSS only had 8 packages of the Royale tiger towels I took 4 so some is there for who ever gets there next.

Sassy.. our internet is at the top pkg avaible... top speed unlimited. i refuse to cut it. when all kids are home i dont worry about it... when hubby ( who works from home) needs it.. we dont worry or stress it yes i could cut it .. but nope.. not doing it we both work from home. and i swear his computer set up looks like the deck from the star ship enterprise.... monitors everywhere. .. saving 5.00 is not worth my stress.

ok. so .. yesterday we had a small bunny in our backyard... we think a family is in our shed... any hoo.. caught in fence trying to get away from my puppies... golly ... it didnt want to talk to my 2 ... 140 lb + big black dogs at 7 am ...
as i was helping hubby ... i slipped... and popped my knee.... Bunny is safe... currently discussing alternative living arrangements with its family... prob will relocate once nice weather hits.... is checking out the neighbour 3 doors down.... much quieter...lol.

my knee... so sore... back ... sore... not good.

@Giseledta , hope you knee feels better soon.

That is exactly how I feel about out internet. I do not want to be on a zoom meeting, connected to the system, with Mom streaming and we have an issue. Just a couple weeks ago Bro messages in the family group chat what is what with the servers? Turns out his fiancee was working from home that day and her work was consuming all of their bandwidth so he could not connect to our work servers.

    exactly!!

if hubby needs the band width ... he needs the band width... he does not need to get kicked off because i am playing baby shark for my DC kids. equally... it is disrespectful to th e kids to say.. no ... we are not doing indoor movement today... because hubby has 3 meetings...
if i expect the kids to share .. Hubby has to as well.... but... also .. there needs to be enought to share equitably. .. it might not be the most frugal....but it is less stressful

Ouch! Hope it feels better, soon.
At least it happened in the right time of year so that you have a plentiful supply of ice to control the swelling.

Meal plans for the week ahead: roast chicken dinner, chicken wraps or chicken and mushroom Alfredo, corn chowder, roast beef dinner, smokies with onion rings and French fries.

Ds and I will make apple crisp tomorrow. Monday is a no school day for kids, so I’ll be home with our children.

If I end up with any no teaching days this week I’ll try to work on some frugal plans.

NF last night wasn’t busy, just like I planned. Not that much for bare spots on the shelves. $70 totalRedeemed $10 in points Earned 22,000pts$0.75 Eclipsa Submitted to receipt hog & SB.

The forecast is nice for today, so we plan on taking the kids sledding. We are under a weather advisory for tomorrow. Forecast is freezing rain, wind, followed by snow in the evening. Hopefully the salt the roads this time.

NF was a total bust yesterday. None of the PCO promo was available. I guess they wanted me to stay under budget for January. DH and I drove down to see my mom so most of the day was lost, but we did stop at Costco on the way home. Vector is back in stock. He was very happy. This was our 1st Costco trip this year but we managed to stay to less than $200.00 and we picked up a meal for dinner. I have a pork roast out for dinner but now need to menu plan for the week.
stay warm if you are heading outside. It’s still cold here in my part of Ontario.
