What's For Dinner?

Bought Chinese food for lunch and there is plenty left for dinner!

DS treated us all to chicken shawarma today. DH and I can only split a small one. They are quite interesting and tasty, but we have to go with " mild ", he gets the spicier one.

@walkonby , I do not know what is about shawarma but no matter where you it, it is always so filling. It is on of my favourite meals to get when I am on the road for work because I know it will fill me up and keep me full.

Mom announced she is chickened out, originally I was planning Chicken Burgers so I was going to Flip to Homemade Hamburger but then Mom said she wanted pasta, as I listed off the options it was decided Pasta with Meatballs it would be. I will add mushrooms to the sauce for some veggies and make a cheesy garlic naan on the side.

Normally there would be a side salad but I had a huge salad for lunch to use up some of chopped up veggies in the fridge so we will skip the salad.

@walkonby, I do not know what is about shawarma but no matter where you it, it is always so filling. It is on of my favourite meals to get when I am on the road for work because I know it will fill me up and keep me full.

and @SassyAshley , DH and I are quite NEW to Shawarma so the first time DS brought me one home it was a full tray just for me. Nope. Couldn't do it. I divided it into 3 portions, had nothing else with each serving and was stuffed each time...ha ha

Tonight I am going to do Steak Sandwiches, Marinated Steak Strips with Mushroom & Onions and a Garlic Toasted Bun with Cheese.

On the side I am going to make Savoury Roasted Sweet Potatoes done in the Air Fryer and a side of a Kale Salad kit.

I made 6 of these the other night, we called them " white bread perogies ". Kind of fun but also a PITA to make. ( ya gotta be in the mood to do it )


I awoke today to find a whole chicken thawing in the fridge. My guess is DH is going to Air Fryer it later today.

Mom had a late lunch yesterday and was not hungry so I made myself a Chicken Caesar Wrap using some Frozen Chicken Fingers and threw a few fries in the Air Fryer to go with it.

During Prime Days I ordered Silicone Liner for our Air Fryer and it has been life changing we use our Air Fryer so often now because it is so easy to clean.

This past week DH was home. Sunday's dinner plan was a whole chicken in the air fryer, Caesar salad, fresh steamed green beans and corn on the cob.
Around 4:30 p.m. he accompanied me to NF ( I was supposed to have this done Thursday but my arthritis had swelled up my right hand.)
Anyhow, once at NF we eyed the T-bone family pack of steaks on sale ( grabbed 2 trays ) and I got a very large container of Cremini mushrooms for $4.00.
Our dinner ended up being cast iron seared and simmered steak/mushrooms/onions/gravy with a splash of red wine.
We still had the same sides as planned but felt sorry for that thawed chicken in the fridge....ha ha
We air fried that up before midnight to be used in their work meals. No harm " no fowl " bwahahaha!!

I had a headache threatening to take my down yesterday (for the first time in a long time I considered taking a sick afternoon as I could barely look at my laptop) but it dulled but decided to keep dinner simple.

I made Instant Pot Alfredo, I added Chicken, Mushrooms and Broccoli and made a Cheesy Garlic Naan on the side.

Now to figure out tonight, it is a never ending question, what's for dinner?????

The guys are saying " it's too bloody hot to work " , which means no hot meals will be taken in. Sammies and salads will be on Tuesdays menu as it was on Monday, but with a twist!
I've hard boiled up some eggs for them to take along with them. I do what I can for them from the very comfy central A/C environment that I stay in. I'm no fool! ha ha

Air frying up a bag of chicken wings just to have on hand. Already had my dinner but hrmph, the Jays are down 4-1 in the 5th atm, so I might need an emotional snack lift. lol

We had some Homemade Mac & Cheese in the freezer I was saving to have with Ribs but my sinuses are not happy today so I need easy so I pulled the Mac & cheese and will have it with Baked Sausages and Salad (we have kale or dill pickle, I haven't picked which one yet).
