I get this I am still in the dating stage of life but yes I love me a man who can cook. There is something about knowing if I have to work late or am sick he can fend for himself and if things do get serious and we have kids knowing when I cannot cook will not automatically mean take-out makes me happy.
Not to mention I am one of those simple girls, I do not want flowers or poetry I want a man who can put the potatoes on for dinner if I have to work late or will come home and see me peeling potatoes and offer to chop them up, oh for me it is all about the little things. Now if I could also find a man to carry the laundry downstairs for me I would be set.
Last night was leftover mashed potato bake with a huge Sweet Kale Salad, almost a veggie meal but there was bacon in the mashed potato bake.
Just came in from outside and someone was BBQing and it smelled so good, wish I was bbqing...lol..but I cooked a beef roast a couple+ weeks ago and froze the leftovers, including the gravy as it was sooo good..so I'm having that with roasted squash, carrots & potatoes..(AND I lined the baking dish with non-stick foil, so very little clean-up for a delish meal!)
p/u all the ingredients today to make this for the big fish fry on Friday..hope it turns out (will prob add cream cheese in the recipe somewhere; already had the cool whip & icing sugar)..it looks like Easter!!

Just crackers and hot chocolate again
We had homemade mushroom soup & it was pretty good.
:) :) :) :)
Made penne pasta, cooked sweetlet peas with it; made a mushroom sauce, added flaked tuna, s+p, garlic powder. Served with big salad.
During Lent, meatless meals have been Wed. and Fri.
This week, it's meatless til Easter Sunday - with Fri. being a strict fasting day (one meal, not only no meat - but also no dairy, eggs, etc.).
Hmmm... have to do some planning, that's for sure.
Tater tots, BBQ chicken breast and a huge salad.
I took our 2 chicken breasts yesterday, it depends on how fussy baby is later on... would like a stir fry, but it could just be chicken and sidekick noodles.... actually I want noodles... mmmm
I'm going to give dh the hot dogs and Chili he's been bugging me for ;)
Son is coming over, so I'll cook - otherwise it probably would have been PB sandwiches, lol!
Baked fish fillets (can't remember what kind) - I just make them simply, with lemon juice, butter, and seasonings; I'll make a roasted potato dish of some kind, cooked peas, and salad.
Oh, yeah, son tried to coerce me - said he'd come for supper only if I'd let him have some Babka I baked today - well, yes! (he was kidding!!)
Ha! I wish it was that simple. For the last 6 months anything I eat makes me REALLY sick. Like food poisioning sick. The only thing that doesn't seem to bother me is the crackers/hot chocolate. Going to see a doc Monday. One heck of a weight loss program, HAAHAHA!
^^^ Yuck! Hope you find out what the issue is and get it resolved fast :)
p/u a bucket of KFC when I was out & about for later--they have their 9 piece bucket on for $9.99. I usually ask for white meat and always willing to pay extra if they can accommodate (which is not often!) but today the lady asked before I had a chance to ask "if I liked white meat?? we have extra for no charge''. I said ABSOLUTELY, so ended up with 3 breast, 3 sides and 3 wings..yummo!!
making some homemade burgers for DH ( but no buns ) with a side of baked sweet potato.
Happy Good Friday everyone!! I'm going to a big fish fry this evening. Once upon a time we would pan fry everything but now we cook it in a turkey deep fryer outside..and it is really, really good. I've donated about 10 lbs of cod fillets that I brought back from NFLD, so that will be yummy and then what everyone else brings. ..and all the side dishes and desserts...and wine...lol..should be a lovely evening!!
Dh and I were planning on heading state side today but the line ups were 3+ hours and even with nexus it would have been a pain so we opted to have lunch at five guys and fries, so no dinner for us tonight :)
hot dogs
Tonight's dinner donuts, we had no power most of the day so we ordered pizza around 2 pm when the next estimated time for power to come back on was moved to 4 pm. When it was moved to 8 pm we went to Tim's for tea and donuts and all I had was a donuts was still full from pizza.
Tomorrow is a big dinner, so assorted snacks like veggies, tortillas with cream cheese, salsa, cheddar, and a grilled cheese (I added mushrooms, onions, peppers I'd cooked for tomorrow's stuffing to mine).
Homemade Burgers with Chips and Sweet Kale Salad.
Going to try an egg salad sandwich and see what happens
The fish fry turned out excellent!! So much food--I gave up counting the number of lasagna pans we cooked, full of deep fried fish. Yummo! Tonight, I was suppose to go see the new Trailer Park Boy's movie but ended up today with a REALLY sore throat, so didn't want to go and start coughing or something...LOL...so to keep things simple, I tried the new Ristorante Salmon & Spinach pizza that I p/u for $0.99 when RCSS had them on sale last week and minus the $3.00 coupon, no offense to anyone but I thought it was absolutely disgusting...I will never buy another one. Maybe my taste buds are dead from all the peppermint tea..lol..
tuna casserole
lost track of time , quite a busy Saturday it was.......we finally managed a tasty late night dinner of lamb chops, and GF pasta.
I'm gonna try something on monday night hope its not weird lol. Make something like a stuffing casserole. Take stuffing and mix it with cream of mushroom soup, grated cheese and peas. Wonder how that will turn out. :)
well cab I believe it will taste yummy, because ALL comfort foods are like that. Update if you don't fall asleep after eating it, lol!!
