What's For Dinner?

Just "snacked" tonight for dinner on veggies, hummus and pita bread...

BBQ smokies (PC brand honey-garlic, best we've ever had, they were $6 for 900g) on bread, extra-large and delish Caesar salad - packed with other veggies, too.

It was my first time eating an A&W burger and it was pretty darn yummy coming from a fast food place!

I feel like Mexican...then DH666 posted lazania rolls....now I want that!! Today is a tofu day

Oh, janetta - you've been missing out! I've never had a Papa burger, I'm a Teen girl myself - and I hope you had the amazing onion rings! (hoping they are made the same across the country!)

I tried to pull one over on my fiancé by making veggie stir-fry with sweet and sour sauce served on rice with only one chicken breast for four servings. He wasn't impressed - "where's the meat?"

Oh, I've been there... and still do it - when I make a stirfry or stew.... sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Do you make your own hummus? I am driving myself batty looking for Tahini . I only found a JUMBO jar at RCSS but I was hoping for something a tad smaller

spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and lots of basil out of the garden

I can't wait to get rid of the last of the Giovanni Panzi pasta i bought , I find it terrible , Delverde is much better IMO

Do you marinate the tofu?? My gang hates it! So I was going to try marinating it over night with some oil and herbs???

Leftover ham with perogies and a garden salad...

When I make Hummus, I just use the chickpeas, keeping the liquid (I use canned) a little oil & garlic & lemon juice - salt to taste...I use the chickpea juice to thin it out a little if it's too thick. No tahini needed and the family loves it.

You can buy just a bit at Bulk Barn. I buy the al rabih tahini from freshco or food basics, zehrs has it too, been on sale for summer holidays around $2.49 for 454g which I get about 8 batches of hummus. If you are not worried about price check out Metro for the Nuts to You line, I think they have a smaller 250g jar in that line.

Alas no Bulk Barn or Metro here I'll check out Safeway
