tonight was spaghetti and sauce. Whole wheat for me. Regular spaghetti for the rest of the gang. DH almost looked offended that I was making whole wheat for myself. lol. Can't figure out why? Truth is, if I made whole wheat for all of us, he would complain about it. Men. Can't live with 'em. Can't shoot 'em.

Tonight we are goin' to Vietnam! We're having Pho soup.

Never made this at home before (only had it in restaurants), but DH is determined to make it and spent yesterday scouring an Asian food store on the other side of town for the ingredients he needed. I'm excited. We've been eating a lot of things lately that aren't usually on our bill of fare and it's been fun and exciting. Plus, we're exposing our kids to different foods they might otherwise not eat.

I tried to pull one over on my fiancé by making veggie stir-fry with sweet and sour sauce served on rice with only one chicken breast for four servings. He wasn't impressed - "where's the meat?"

Well, correction. We're not going to Vietnam tonight. If we were going to Vietnam, DH should've started it 6 hours ago. lol. Apparently the broth in the pho soup is what makes it godly but it takes 6 hours of simmering.

LOL. Looks like we're staying in Canada. Handy dandy BBQ hamburgers, rice, and veggies.

I should like to pull a fast one over my DH like Alicia did with the veggies...hehe...but there's no way I can sub a veggie burger for a meat burger without an uprising.

A dozen lovely corn sacrificed themselves by plunging into to scalding water and 3 are now on my plate. I am grateful.
