Pulled pork tacos. The others did get out the buns and eat them that way.

I never know what to call this soup in English - rib soup? barley soup?

Base is broth from boiling pork ribs - for the soup, I add pearl barley, rice, potatoes, peas, carrots, onions, lots of dill - and today I added some cabbage. If it needs thickening towards the end, I'll add some pasta.
Usually the soup is enough for us, but our son is coming over, so I'll cook some smokies, and whoever wants can have them on buns.

I'm having an evening home to myself and making beer battered cod (fresh from the ocean ) & onion rings..and beer!! I'm soaking the onion in buttermilk now and made my own tarter sauce (mayo, relish, lemon juice, caesar rim, S&P)

    Yum, how awesome!

I'm having the best prairie alternative - cod and chips from Gibson's. They've been closed for months, moved, and have finally re-opened. Husband just went to pick food up.

added - it was as good as ever - only disappointed they forgot the tartar sauce.

Husband's comment - if HE likes it, you have to know it's the best.

He's not a fish fan at all - but he eats it when I make it, just because...

Last night we picked up Fish & Chips on the way home.

Tonight is a mystery until I get off work, go home and stand in front of the freezer until something jumps out at me. Mom is working till 7 so thinking I need to find something that can be reheated as I am not sure since I was up at 6 this morning for work that I can wait till 8 or later tonight for dinner without way too much snacking in between.

roasted another $5.00 whole chicken again, removed it and placed the smallest whole potatoes into the drippings. Cooked beets, carrots and broccoli as sides. I also have 6 med/large sized Cod fillets to pan fry up. They take almost no time to do so I will have to wait to see what time everyone wants to eat dinner at before I start those. I love them going immediately from pan to plate!

Beef stew simmering in the pot with carrots, onions, rutabaga, celery and mushroom. Will serve this with corn bread and tossed green salad.
