Oh shes' one of "those". Plays all nice and sweet as long as you don't move in close. I thought she just didn't purr. Well, maybe in time if she lets herself trust you, she'll be more cuddly. Or, she could just be like she is now. I've got one like that. She'll rub against my leg and I'll reach down and gently touch her head. But I know now that's all I'm allowed to do. Anymore and she goes ballistic on me.

Your Divo reminds me of my Kira. Doesn't liked to be picked up (meows like we're torturing her when we pick her up); runs the other way when we get a brush out; and no purring. Well, she does pur, but so low it's almost inaudible. I do feel her vibrate. Oh, and yes, she just loves to lick hands and feet

Poor Mmmme re your dad As for cats, there are as many different personalities as there are with people. It might be that she just hasn't learned to trust you yet; or it might be that she just never likes to be picked up (confined) or purr. I have some that purr when you look at them
