This past week every morning being awakened by the Mallards quacking in my neighbors pool. The same pair have nested somewhere on our street for about 5 years now. SOmetimes in th early morning they are asleep on the pavement in the street. Probably warm there.

Robins, chickadees, mallards and Canada geese sitting on the river bank, lots of them starting to nest. Leaves on the Tree beside us is starting to bud, so maybe spring is here!

I've had a ton of robins in my yard the past couple weeks. I sleep with my window open a tiny bit and just love being woken up by birds singing away. Much nicer sound then the alarm clock!

today I saw an Oriole for the first time ever and I couldn't get over how vivid the orange was on its belly. I always thought they were a pumpkin orange but the one I saw was BRIGHT orange, like an highlighter.
Here's an example but not my picture...

Just got my Hummingbirds back yesterday! I was so excited to see them. They came on May 10 last year, and on May 15 this year. It is so wonderful to be able to watch them flitting around.

Aw, those ducks are beautiful...we have a pair hanging around one street over..when Jenny and I go for our morning walk we cross the street across from them if they're there, so that we don't disturb them...so cute!
As for us here, there isn't a bird alive who could maneuver in this wretched wind! Enough already. We forgot to take in our hanging lobelia plant last night and lost it to the cold (no frost). So mad. We did have a lovely week of spring, however....

They are beautiful and have been around for several seasons. I am glad they don't come in my pool though, poop in pool is not a pleasing prospect. lol Maybe the cats scare them away. Could be because my clothesline is right across the pool so maybe they cannot land properly.

I am 99% sure I saw a pheasant in a field on my way to work today...I have never seen one and literally did a double take it was really pretty but odd to see such a big bird usually this area are small birdies...it looks like the one in the pic, not the fancy coloured one but the beige one (not my pic)
