could you report it to the school or someone else that shes doing that? I've heard of schools allowing kids from other areas as long as there is enough room but to flat out lie about the address is messed up. what if no one picked him up a d someone trying to be helpful delivered him to the fake address. or what if the school was mailing confidential information. the poor kid obviously needs discipline and structure but where did he pick up the behavior to begin with? I hate to say it but if he thinks its ok to talk to your sil that way he probably saw someone else treat her that way. how does your brother (?) treat her behind closed doors?

i agree with you.. i feel bad for the kid because the parents set an example for the kids and the kid doesn't know any different (heck if a parent laughs at something a kid does it encourages them to continue doing it!) the kid has an upward battle now that he's in school and can be singled out because of what he has been taught is ok

did I do the right thing?
I got a call earlier from A. who offered me money to babysit while her and her hubby are working. her hubby would get off work at 8:30pm and it would likely be 9:30-10pm before her kid would be picked up. (she gets off later than that) I get both my kids to sleep around 8:30pm which is especially important for ds1 who has to get up early for school. I get them to sleep by laying down with them and they are moved to their own beds when they are in a deep sleep. (they will not go to bed on their own and crying it out is not an option due to the noise restrictions in our lease.)
I said I could only do it if she worked it out that her kid would be picked up by 8:30pm which is impossible and now shes upset with me. while I would like to be able to help her (and get a bit of extra money) I have to put my kids first especially with the bedtime due to school the next day but on the other hand she really needs the help and I feel like asking me was a last resort... what would you guys do?Intergalactic Proton Powered Electrical Tentacled Advertising Droids!

^francine1985-you were upfront with your friend because you know your household routine. True friend would realize that and yes this one seems to have left it last minute without considering what you might have to juggle to take in her child. She'll likely find someone in her neighbourhood to pinchhit.
Also, you don't know how her child would react if she saw your kids getting to sleep and starting to worry about boundaries etc. So you handled it well and honestly. Maybe friend will realize it-but if she ever does this again, stand firm on school night routines.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

I posted this on the Sobeys Facebook page earlier:
I feel like I just got scammed at the South Ajax store when I bought 2 bags of Cotton Candy Grapes yesterday. I spent a whopping $10 for the supposedly Cotton Candy Grapes only to find out today when I ate some that it is just the Green Table Grapes in a bag that said Cotton Candy Grapes. I know that I should have looked for the trademark "cotton candy smell" of the grapes, but with a cold coming on, my sense of smell is not at it's best. Now, I am stuck with grapes that I don't really want and $10 out of pocket wasted just because of some deceitful ploy by the South Ajax store on Cotton Candy Grapes.
I claimed that I have only spent $10, but checking out my receipt a few minutes later, it's a lot more than that.
Sobeys replied to my Facebook rant by saying to contact the produce store assistant for further assistance. But what else can be done! I don't think they will do an exchange or a refund. It's just so frustrating, to not have the product that you really wanted to get, in the first place. Now, these grapes will just end up in the compost bin as no one here at home wants them.

I have never had a problem refunding something at my Atlantic Sobeys. I even exchanged a moldy tub of food without a receipt several years ago. I think its worth going back to the store and refunding them...
also I've never heard of cotton candy grapes. I assume they taste like cotton candy but are they seedless and are they a somewhat new product. im wondering if they will eventually make their way to Atlantic CanadaIntergalactic Proton Powered Electrical Tentacled Advertising Droids!

Here's the flyer shot of it from a few weeks back. What's even sadder is that I have been searching for these grapes for over 3 weeks now.

I don't like grapes but I want to try these ones. I hope I can eventually find some here.
I think maybe you should call the store explain the situation and see if the will either exchange or refund them... I am wondering if a customer switched them to get the cotton candy grapes for the price or regular green grapes as that would unfortunately make more sense than the store mislabelling the whole shipment.Intergalactic Proton Powered Electrical Tentacled Advertising Droids!

I had this bright idea to make my toddler a birthday sign by cutting out bunnies, spelling out "Happy Birthday xx" in scrunched up tissue paper and then covering the bunnies in white tissue paper so it looked like fur. Ummm worst idea ever! I've spent the last 3 hours working on happy birthday and just got to her name. There's no way I'm going to be able to finish these by her birthday on Thursday, unless she decides to nap for 12 hrs tomorrow.

JadeAngel - all you need to do is take them back to Customer Service at your store.

UGHHHH when will the jackhammering outside my window stop???? It's been going on for THREE YEARS!
The construction in this city is messed up!
Yesterday I got off the streetcar and the ENTIRE sidewalk was under construction. I nearly got ran over by a taxi because the streetcar couldn't drop us off at the regular stop. Oh and the cab driver waves his hands at me because obviously I am in the wrong. Then on the way home I was nearly run over by a cement truck because I had to wait on the street to cross the street. Because you know, THERE IS NO SIDEWALK.
Construction doesn't normally bother me because my dad worked in construction for 40 years. I'm used to it, but even I have reached my breaking point after 3 years non-stopLast edited by torontogal12; Wed, Sep 24th, 2014 at 10:27 AM.

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

I slipped and fell down the stairs yesterday. My butt hit every freakin' step! I'm so sore today and have huge bruises. My one arm is bruised all the way down (I tried to catch myself from falling). Today is so warm I want to wear a t-shirt but I keep getting awful looks.
