Well.. @alex78, it might be an improvement over the Astra Zenica.
JK,, everyone....it's a joke!! I'd take whatever was offered to me at this point in time!
However, I do get my first vaccination tomorrow.

@Lynn49 - I feel the same way you do about the Astra shot. Like the docs and scientists say, better than dying...
Husband got the Pfizer at an appointment - so did others, location didn't matter.
Those doing drive thrus got the Astra, but only 65 and up.
However now there is lots of Astra left, so it has to be decided what to do with them - sounds like biggest probability is to give second shots to those who already got it, shortening up the stupid four month wait.
SK getting Moderna has been delayed twice, no word yet on the J&J.
....
My day was blah, napped off and on since I hadn't slept the night, which will mess up tonight as well - bad cycle.
Best part of the day was getting my fave cod and chips for supper, with a piece of Mango cheesecake that was fab. Normally don't get desserts from restaurants because they are pricey, so this was a huge treat. I had only had half, saved the rest for husband, but he had a bite and liked it - then said I should have the rest because I had taken my Lactaid pills just for it. I didn't argue because it was so good.
Had my blood drawn this morning, what a sweet man he was who came. We were chitchatting and I hadn't even realized he had done two big vials - now, that is a pro.
Good night!

A quick good morning, everyone!
My 1st vaccination is at 11am and thankfully yesterday's rain has turned into a sunny day so there'll be no trying to hold an umbrella and maneuver a walker if I have to be in line for any length of time. I can also sit in line! Lol!
Enjoy your Saturday, everyone!!

O.K. @Lynn49 you win the funny meme contest today... that one about the man washing dishes under his wife's eyes got me smiling.
@Natalka YES!! THAT was the exact Graham Norton Show I watched one day and then I just had to Google " who was this
comical and delightful woman Nadiya ? " after which I bookmarked her recipes and baking page.
I have a new kitchen toy after 40 years! The Oster Kitchen Centre has served us well and I have never needed to replace or repair anything on it. Trust me, it was all I could do NOT to buy a new KitchenAid when everyone and their sister was getting them.
But last week the dough hooks would not insert easily and when I tried trouble shooting with a slender bristle brush, they eventually went in but the machine laboured to make a batch of dough, then the unit felt way too hot, so not worth chancing another run at it.
Anyhow...I succumbed on Wednesday night and my new toy arrived ( Amazon Prime ) in the early afternoon on Friday.
I have not used it yet, just washed all the parts in warm soapy water telling each of them that we will enjoy a long life together! ha ha
Not a KitchenAid brand. It is a Cooklee 6 in 1 machine. ( also goes under the name Sanlida ) .
So many attachments came with it.

Good morning friends! Just texted my BrotherB and nephew about how far they have driven on their way to The Soo. They're going past Espanola already! I was going to tell my BrotherB to give @Lynn49 a call as they went past Sudbury- but too late- and you might have been out getting your shot, @Lynn49 . Maybe on his way back- he'll be lonelier then.
It's going up to 24 today. Wow!
Tootie got groomed yesterday and she smells and looks so clean!
Well, I have to find some documents to send off to Canada Revenue re: my 2019 return.
Sheesh- you would think I was Al Capone and they were after me for tax fraud! Believe me- my measly contributions won't make that much of a difference!
Will chat later- have a great day!

@avoncallingu , I'd have LOVED a call from your BrotherB! Unfortunately I'd be unable to give him a big hug over the phone, but if they wanted to stop over for a cool one, they're more than welcome! It's quite the long drive home!!!
So...why are they going to the Sault???
You probably told me, but my mind's a sieve.
I did get my shot this morning, 11am-ish...no line-out outside, maybe 6 people in front of me, got seated in my cubicle at 11:06, but waited 20 minutes for someone to stick me! The group across from us...boom, boom, boom...done! But us?
Sigh...........story of my life.
However, it's done, I got the Moderna, happy with that, and in 20 days, I should be 90% immune!! Yay!!
Anyway...YES! Tell your brother to stop by for a brew...when are they passing through? Tomorrow we're expecting a real down-pour!!Last edited by Lynn49; Sun, Apr 11th, 2021 at 08:20 PM.

@Lynn49 - my nephew is moving to The Sault to go to school there in the fall. His girlfriend lives there.
Sniff!
BrotherB will be heading back on Tuesday, I think.
Glad to hear people are getting their shots!
It was a lovely day here.
I've been binging Hudson and Rex. Canadian detective show. Not the best but good for not straining the brain.
Take care everyone.

So it happened AGAIN here! Power goes out around 5:30 p.m. , we did our usual hopeful thing saying
" it'll come back on shortly, but at least before the Leaf's and the Blue Jays games at 7 right? "
Nope.
The power finally got restored when?? The instant the 3rd period ended!! Oh for F**ks sake.
Well, we had our battery powered radio and were able to listen to the hockey game at least.
What a fabulous back and forth hockey game...a high scoring affair. Leafs won 6-5, Campbell now has 11 consecutive wins, beating Price's 10 game record. Matthews gota hat trick.
Then in a weird twist of good luck the Jays game had been rain delayed and started the instant the power came back on.
So we watched and atm it's a celebratory ( for us ) 14-1 lead in the 5th.
I cooked up a sustenance meal on the propane BBQ side element. Ramen noodles, X lg cooked shrimp, peas and corn mixed into a sort of thick soupy thing. It worked.
