That was funny! You'll get " round-to-it " then @Lynn49 ? That is sitting outside watching for birdies at the new feeder?
I love bird feeders. Congrats on no bears waddling in and destroying it.
We've had a few styles of feeders over the years positioned in both the front and back of the house, one particular summer there was so much birdie doo-doo on our deck levels that we eventually removed them.
Hummingbird feeders must be mentioned....they are magical! So are the birds!
I am heading out shortly to do the nasty! By that I mean spend indecent amounts of my money on gasoline!!
Where do families with very tight budgets trim from when trying to navigate this crazy expense?
Have a happy day all, despite this gloomy-ish post.Last edited by walkonby; Wed, Jun 8th, 2022 at 07:54 PM.

Lol....well, that was the plan! Just watching birdies today, and in a way I did!
Our DD took the day off work, dropped over mid afternoon after running errands, we sipped wine any then a tiny yellow bird found one of the hanging feeders and spent some time nibbling seeds! She was beautiful! No hummingbirds here, yet , like at damp, but they'll find it.
Then I went for my mani, baked the 2 layers of chocolate cake (now frozen), sent Hubby out with a grocery list for his famous Caesar salad and my famous mac&cheese, my homemade burger supplies...there's still so much to be done before we leave tomorrow!!
As for gas, ugh, yes...used to cost us $40 to and from the island, now $75 or so....meh, as he says, it's a couple bottles of wine, cases of beer, so it all comes out in the wash. However people who travel hours to and from work must really be feeling it!
So late already!
G'night, everyone! Walks!!

Good morning, sleepyheads!!
I've been awake since 3am...sigh...I guess I won't need my 7am wake-up reminder.
It's supposed to be 21 and sunny today, sure hope so, there's much to do before we can hit the road!
I finished our GS's b'day card with the pop-up guitars in it, had to fashion an envelope since it was a tad oversized, made another card for the Mom of our DD's friend since it'll be her b'day on Saturday. The kids' friends (who also have an RV at our campground) and her friend's Mom will be visiting us for dessert and b'day party. My dessert better be worth it, lol!
Enjoy your day, everyone, I've been up for 3hrs already....I see a nap in my future!

Thank you and good morning, @flemeth !
Well, he requested a chocolate-strawberry cake so the 2 layers are presently frozen, so at camp I'll assemble it with a strawberry frosting with glazed fresh strawberries on top.
Enjoy your day!

Oh my!! Getting up well before your normal morning hours eh @Lynn49 ? That can happen, it'll all balance out with a nap.
Have a wonderful and birthday(s) celebratory sort of time at camp!! Mmmm, cake, the sounds of yours really gets the cravings going. @GoJays , honestly, I have no idea HOW we ever got through our teenage years, our 20's, 30's and 40's without a place to post what we were doing 24/7 . bwahaha!!!
Now, here I am going through withdrawal when I've not had my sc fix for the day!!
I have SO much to do in the kitchen ( self imposed soup making ) but I keep putting off starting. Also I have a corned beef and cabbage meal to make for the guys. Meh? Today, tomorrow, tom-eh-toe , tom-ah-toe.
Have fun all!

Sorry to hear about your eyes. Getting older is not for the faint of heart!
That said, it is good that you’re on top of situation. Also treatment for this problem is so much further ahead then when we were wee gaffers. You have quite the group here to support and encourage you which is what I really appreciate aboutvSC.Always remember the What are you thankful for today? thread as there always is something to be thankful for.

Thank you, @Skippy , I just feel I've "come of age", joining the cataract club! Lol! Doesn't this only happen to old people?! Agree, we sure are lucky to live at a time when so many medical advancements have been made. More is needed, but we'll take this for now, right?
I hope you're having more good days than bad, Skipper, and that you can sit back and enjoy the summery weather we've waited so long to welcome!

@Lynn49 I had my cataract surgery both eyes at 46 and that’s not a typo. I have an alarming family history but honestly it was not that bad and so worth it,the biggest challenge is keeping the drops straight.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Another power outage for Scarborough! Happened sometime around 1:30 a.m. BUT since I was asleep at the time it's only a ballpark guess.
The power finally came back on around 6 a.m. ( whew! ) There was a storm apparently?? Funny because I slept soundly and never heard any thunder boomers during that time.
GRRRR!!!! Speaking of Lightning.....The Tampa Bay BUGGERS managed to grab game 5 from the Rangers and IN their own arena! How disrespectful! Now the shoe ( or skate ) is on the other foot and the NYR face elimination in the next game.
It was funny seeing celebrities ( Jimmy Fallon and Liam Neeson ) in the crowds cheering the Rangers on.
I will need to make a trip at some point to Freshco for more large jars of roasted red peppers.....cannot believe my stash is all used up.
TGIF all!!

Good morning, all!
@lilo0003 , you certainly were young when you had your cataract surgery! Having researched it, I learned that even infants can be born with them! Thank you for letting me know you had a positive experience and outcome! Happy summer!
@walkonby , omgosh, your description of the TB team this morning was brilliant and I hope you don't mind my sharing it here: "they're like cockroaches, they just won't die!". SO true and so tiresome. I won't watch their next playoff series games: who cares except Floridians?! Glad your power came back on so quickly.
A beautiful morning here on the island (my, doesn't that sound tropical? Lol!), so a nice quiet day. DD is working from here today, so we won't see much of her.
Enjoy your day, everyone!
