The security guard at our location was extremely helpful. He told us to come back after Feb 15 and try again. Well, at 8am one day that week we did and still had to wait for a couple of hours to see someone. Then he suggested that we come back around 2 in the afternoon, that it's usually much quieter then, so we did. We waited in chairs for maybe a half hour, we were called, application was checked and rechecked, finally we were approved and sent on our way. That took a grand total of just under an hour. It was just DS and I as DD was still in uni. She was here recently for reading week and we tried with hers. Same process, show up at 2pm, etc. This time though, the office was empty, we were the only ones in there. A half hour start to finish. Funny story, DS got his passport the day DD and I were in getting hers processed. It took less than a month
@GoJays That was funny how your DS got his actual passport on the day your DD was processing for hers. Such nice luck on having an empty office.
Now here is the kicker regarding OAS.
As I had mentioned, there was no option online to book an OAS appt. or Lord knows we would have. DH cannot go to any Service Canada Offices
in the afternoons because he sleeps then, ( shift worker ) so we sat there and finally when we were in the FIRST seat we watched 4 people go ahead of us!!
Why? Well 1 had an appt. so they sashayed right on in and the other 3 were there to renew their PASSPORTS!! and the guy processing them was new
and said he had " no idea how to process an OAS application" Oh just freaking shoot me!!

    o.k. sorry, rant over. lol

I LOVED this video of the SAME tropical fish ( they even gave him a name! Sonny ...lol ) greeting the diver. Sonny gave her the grand tour of his underwater world.
Could this be similar to Mr Limpet's story? Enjoy.

    Good morning!

Eye surgery today to stall my glaucoma, then all the activities that took us out of the house every day this week will be over!

That bear meme, @GoJays, was cute, but eek….that guys response made quite the statement! Took the giggle out of it, didn’t it? Can't post anything these days that someone won't take offence to....even teddy bears!!!

@Skippy, heaven knows I try to remain upbeat! Amof, as part of a group of gals I’m now involved in performing skits for seniors’ groups, the nursing school, etc has one that is directed at having a positive attitude, particularly as we age. It’s not easy all the time, but yes, we count our blessings, think of those who have much larger problems, and get on with the day.
Bless your heart for continuing to work on your mobility particularly during these trying conditions outside, something I wouldn’t attempt. Yet. I’ll wait for that white nonsense to die.

That was the cutest video @walkonby . The best part? The tour. Hello there humans, welcome to my home. Over there we see the water, down there we see the reef. Mr. Eel lives there, he's grumpy but if you ignore him he will leave you alone

    Good morning!

Finally a day that I don’t have to leave the house! However, at 0C today, sunny, it would be a day I’d want to do a bit of wandering! I just hope that one day I’ll feel confident to drive again!! One month to get my new lenses is becoming so tedious! It’s been 2 months this time!

They came in after the first month…..the technician cracked them when he was grinding them to fit!!
They sent the lens and frames back….been another month! In Canada!
Sorry to rant, but wearing “someone else’s” glasses (my old ones) to walk around, cheaters to read, NO glasses to watch tv….is getting old.

@GoJays, , nothing to do with your sense of humour, it’s as irreverent as mine, I think. The meme was cute, but that guy’s response? So unnecessary. Our DD and now our GS are even worse, lol….they share the same brain and sarcastic wit. Our poor SIL, hahaha!

So another snowstorm for you southerners? Good grief, another episode of Highway401. Stay safe out there if you have to be out on those busy roads.

    Happy weekend, everyone!!

Afternoon already? Some days I truly wonder what I did as the hours trickled away? I remember early this morning I had washed, peeled and split lengthwise a 1/3 of a 5 lb. bag of carrots, then laid them all flat and roasted them. The large bag was bought weeks ago, ( on sale! ) so no point in letting them go slimy! Roasted veg ARE the best. I also roasted the last bunch of asparagus too.
Cooked up 8 frozen burgers, boiled and sauteed the last of my homemade perogies, all part of my master plan to make more freezer room.
    TGIF all!!
