Good morning!
Glad the puppies are doing well! Hope they continue to heal up nicely. I'm sure love provides most of the medicine.
Bad sleep, not only because a new place, but an awful bed.
PT and OT are 45 mins late, but the nurse just came to tell me they will be here soon - she came to check if I needed more pain meds before.
More later!

Nothing seems easy, does it, @Natalka . Good move, but yucky bed...I hope they have one lime the last one you had. Also hope that you get the same quality of care where you are now.
So....are you in a re-hab area now? You must be making really good progress, Nat...keep up the hard work!... because I know how difficult and frustrating it can be.

@Lynn49 Yes, it's rehab, officially called the Convalescent Unit (CU).
Before I had only thought of that word in relation to sick, elderly people. However this place is for medically stable patients who don't need a lot of acute care, but the supportive therapies to ready people to get home.
A physiotherapist came this aft to get my history, evaluate my bod parts, movement, strength, etc.
Then I was measured for a wheelchair, one I could most easily get up from. All are low, but with two cushions it is doable.
So I practiced getting up and down, doing transfers, went for a long walk, did lots of stuff. I am pooped!
But here physio isn't a once a day thing. Nurses and aides do stuff with you aside from PT visits, and that also means no evenings off!
It's tough, but I am glad to be here. I am going to have a rest and put my feet up while I can.

I am so sad to report that our friend Hicks22 has lost her precious doggie Jake today. He had an accident on the stairs and his weak leg gave way. He tumbled down the stairs and suffered a critical injury. He had to be put to sleep. I am weeping as I type this. That puppie held such a big part of her heart. She has posted on Facebook the very sad news.

Oh my gosh, @22hicks -
I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Jake had a most wonderful life with you and knows you loved him so very much.
With sympathy from the bottom of my heart, I wish you peace.
Pets leave paw prints on our hearts, we shall never forget them.

Ahh that sucks, I'm so sorry to hear that. I remember when my mom had to put my cat to sleep. She did it while I was away.

I feel so sorry for Hicks, she and Jake were such a pair, this is just breaking her heart. Many of us here have lost fur-kids and we know that the pain is almost unbearable, but it also diminishes in time, and once in a while some of us feel that they visit us from time to time, that they've never very far away and that we'll meet them again.
I hope Hicks is being comforted by her friends. So terribly sad....

I teared up as well while reading this. I hate even to think of putting down our eldest dog...but that's the price we pay for all the joy they give us and for the privilege of sharing their lives and trust, which they give us so freely, whether we deserve it or not. @Hicks22 hang in there.
