Good heavens, @walkonby , @flemeth !!
I've had the central air on since that first warm day! AC in the daytime, heat at night, or completely off. I honestly can't stand the heat (unless it's tropical...that seems to agree with me), I feel as if I'm suffocating, I hate being hot and sweaty, can't sleep unless the house is cool.
My Dears....turn the damn thing on!
Well, the kids are off to North Bay for their golf tournament...just friends, really, no real tournament this, just a large group of friends. So yah...just a whole whack of fun. We have our GS although now that he's almost 15, he will be out and about with his friend, likely a sleep-pver tomorrow night. He's here tonight since he has school. He's also been working on his Tims' course...wow, it's involved! Did you know they have different coloured cloths for different jobs? The course involves videos he watches, then answers questions about them...right down to how to cook everything! He'll finish it tonight and submit it before the weekend. His Tims is on the island, about 10 minutes from our campground, so he'll be available weekends in June, then all summer there. He also found out he's been short-listed for our police department's student job positions, but this one will be of more use to him as he can transition to town here in the winter, and really...it can take him right through high school.
Not much else new...a quiet weekend next week at camp, then the next one, our GS's b'day, my Hubby's b'day plus Father's Day! Amazon and I have been dating furiously!
Enjoy another lovely day, everyone! Hubby picked some rhubarb for a rhubarb custard pie and the rest I'll make rhubarb jam for our toasts in the morning. All summer, hahaha!

@walkonby ...does it look like I've written more words if I just exaggerate the letters in the words? or does it still only count as three?
Have a wonderful day everyone. Enjoy the warm weather!DANGER

also...have we all really been chatting in this thread since 2017...?
2017:
...the year the Oompa Loompa took office, and his revolving door of staff...
...the year the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl with a come from behind overtime victory, after trailing by 25 points in the third quarter...
...the year we Canucks celebrated the sesquicentennial anniversary...
...BREXIT is under way...
...the year we questioned 'is it La La Land?...or Moonlight?'...; and
...the year Game of Thrones fans found out they'd have to wait for 2 years (not 1) for the final Season to air!...Last edited by danger_dan; Fri, Jun 2nd, 2023 at 09:02 AM.

lol!!! @danger_dan I love the effort you put in there. Thanks for allowing us to nit pick at you. Says way more about us than you.
@Lynn49 you are correct! I should have flipped on the A/C at the first moment a trickle of perspiration rolled down my neck, but instead
I tried to convince myself that the stickiness was because I had the stove on. Silly me.
A short while ago I was sitting out front on the patio chair and lasted roughly 15 minutes in the intense sunshine before the urge to doze off
took hold. The street is so deadly quiet too. ( no complaints ) and apparently tomorrow is a P.A. Day so the screaming kids ( we are near 2 schools)
at recess will not be heard from till Monday.

Well @walkonby for what it's worth we haven't put our a/c unit in the window yet as haven't gotten around to it(it's too hot!)
In the meantime we have some massive box fan that is helping for the most part.Keeping the drapes closed is a cool trick too.
Unfortunately no walking outside today given humidity and air quality but went to mall for walk(take your blessings where you can find them!).
Whatever you're up to today my friends keep cool and hydrated and don't overdue it.Always remember the What are you thankful for today? thread as there always is something to be thankful for.

Good morning….so chatty today! Love it!
@Skippy, growing up, we didn’t have a/c of course, but our Mom kept the drapes and windows closed, and our house always felt nice and cool during hot spells. Now we’re spoiled by central air…I keep it at 68…Hubby puts on a sweater, lol. I can’t stand being hot…might have to do with my asthma and breathing is more difficult in the heat.
Another absolutely gorgeous day! I heard our GS up and in the shower at 6am, so I got up, turned the coffee on, put my fresh fruit salad in a bowl for him, ready to make eggs, but he just wanted cereal, so that was easy!
Birthday cards to make today for SIL and GS….and Hubby’s, if he leaves on his motorcycle (yikes) to shoot pool at the seniors’ centre.
Yep, life in the fast lane around here.
Enjoy your beautiful Friday, everyone!Last edited by Lynn49; Fri, Jun 2nd, 2023 at 09:26 AM.

I came, I saw, I read, I gave reps and liked but forgot to post? That happens when there is just nothing going on here. Not like life in the fast lane where Lynn is! tee hee.

@walkonby, I EARNED my little glass of Lemoncello later this evening today! I've made 3 cards...a Father's Day for our SIL, one for our GS's b'day and just a little more to do on my Hubby's b'day card. Oh I wish I could post our GS's on here....There wasn't a design, per se, just items I put together for it...he's going to love it! I'm not sure I want to have "Happy Birthday" on the front of it...he may actually frame it! Hahahaha!! Is my ego showing??!
Tended to a needy Jenny as Hubby ran errands and took "the boys" to and from the Spiderman movie...I texted him back and said that there IS no movie at 12: 30 and he said they're just going to buy 'regular' seats. I said, oh! I''m used to you and your family buying those BoxSeats and he says, well...when they're paying for themselves, no. Lol!! Anyway for anyone hesitating, they really enjoyed it and likely will for the sequels that are sure to follow.
I also made 2 gift bags for SIL's and GS's new guitar straps....he saw his Dad's and almost couldn't put it down, poor muffin...it was SO hard not to get his and give it to him!!
So yes....a Lemoncello or perhaps 2 when we watch our Midsomer Murders this evening!
Tomorrow will be a day of rest, and our group has a performance Monday evening...where's this retirement living I keep hearing about??!!!
@Purdee...seems the decision on the effectiveness of those Trojans has already been predetermined, LOL!!
Have a lovely afternoon, everyone!Last edited by Lynn49; Sat, Jun 3rd, 2023 at 07:11 PM.
