Got my new gout stuff this morning , so I'll see how it goes. Supposed to take 3 a day which will last 1 1/2 months. Fingers crossed that this actually helps at least a bit.

Luckily, the filter is located in the opposite corner of where we piled all of our yet to be unpacked items, in the basement.
Other than a bit a water around (nothing a mop and bucket couldn't manage), no damage done...well other than to my wallet!DANGER

Hello folks!
Sadie is HOME!!! Zippity-do-Dah!!!
(She's badly in need of a bath!!!)
Natalka-I am glad they are moving quickly to help your husband but -yikes-3 months! Is he a member of a union?
Does he have sick days to draw from?
It's time your family was all well! My thoughts and prayers for steady healing for him!
Lynn, did you post a pic that I missed? I can't wait to see this quilt!
Dan- sorry to hear about your water woes! Good thing you could fix it!
My brother had 4 cortisone injections yesterday- 1 in both ankles and 1 in each knee- plus the doctor drained off an incredible amount of fluid from his knee and ankle. But boy, did he feel better afterwards. He was so brave! I had to take the vials of that fluid down to the lab-it gave me the heebie-jeebies just looking at it!! He then had more blood tests and x-rays on his knees. Still no definitive diagnosis but this doctor said some form of inflammatory arthritis. More blood tests, a CT scan, an echocardiogram. So, hopefully we are on the right trail to get him better.
Watching America's Got Talent. Just got back from my first walk in 3 weeks with my doggie!
New vet meeting tomorrow and follow-up with physiotherapist and brotherR so we'll see if Sadie can handle my leaving for a while.
Take care and have a good tomorrow.Last edited by avoncallingu; Tue, Aug 15th, 2017 at 08:57 PM.

Healing prayers all around tonight: @avoncallingu & your brother, @Natalka & your husband, and @Lynn49.
Thinking of you all tonight.

Update - and hoping you guys don't mind me doing this (helps me to get it out and think....)
Husband went for CT today, surgeon called around 7 tonight, saying that the darned bulge in his aorta has gotten larger since Friday - so she wants him in for surgery Thursday, though she says it will probably be Friday. She's worried it will burst. Tomorrow he goes in for testing, pre-op, or whatever - not sure if he'll stay in hospital tomorrow or not.
(Trivia - Albert Einstein died of a burst aortic aneurysm.)
avon, so glad you have Sadie! Glad your brother is on the way to finding answers and getting help; keeping him in my prayers.
No, husband isn't unionized, private company. No sick days, and I think he's used up his vacation days. Will have to see if he can get on medical EI like our son was able to - but I'll also have to check his Blue Cross booklet to see if there is anything there which pertains like short-term disability, maybe.
Sigh.
Thanks to you all!

Oh Nat, that's so scary. It was fantastic that they called tonight, and are getting him in right away.
Hopefully, all goes well.

Good evening....gosh, so much going on here and it's WAY past my bedtime, too!!
@Natalka it's wonderful how you received that call this evening, they sure are on top it his condition and keeping a close eye on him and getting him in, in such a timely manner. He's in good hands, Nat. All that pre-op stuff is sure draining...a nice hot bowl of borsch would sure go down nicely after that ordeal for him tomorrow.OH...and dark rye bread.
Seriously, I hope and pray for him, you, Milan and his medical team for a successful conclusion to his condition and I hope you find the financial help you need. 3 months is unbelievable. All the best, Hon...
@avoncallingu , oh, you sound so happy to have little Sadie back home, she's such a lovie-pie! And she and Jenny got along so well...well...after a little mis-understanding, lol, but they were great together after they got to know and ignore each other..BrotherR is getting the best care!!! Now that's how it should all work, this system of ours....good for him and good for you. I always keep you all in my prayers. Give Sadie-Lady a scruffle from her Aunty...
I haven't posted the pic of the quilt yet, I want to sew the little elephant stuffie first, shouldn't take a few minues, then I'll get it on here, fingers crossed. I feel as if I have to jump through hoops to post anything, though!!
@22hicks , I hope you're not over-doing your gardening now that you're feeling better. You tell us all to pace ourselves and take rest breaks and I hope you're doing the same for yourself. Just snuggle with Jake and continue your recovery. And that's an order, Missy!
@Newfiescreech ...too funny...my DD always calls you all my "imaginary friends", athough there are a few of you she can't say she hasn't met!!
Good night, everyone.. @walkonby , sorry about your Jays this evening, I guess time is running out on them this year...well..hockey is just around the corner, isn't it?

sniff...sniff....yes @Lynn49 the Jays came close to coming back with a Donaldson 3 run homer in the 5th, but that was as close as they came. Tomorrow we'll get 'em for sure! Stroman is pitching.
Anyhow, what a difference a few hours makes!! Lots of news in here.
@Natalka gosh that was fast! I along with many others will be keeping your DH in my prayers. He is so lucky to have a great medical specialist that can perform this right away. I like that they consider him still young.
My Mom has had that stent thing done twice. ( 93 now and going strong )
Once your DH is back home and recuperating in his own bed, I am sure that will bring him comfort. That time for recovery sure does seem long though, but maybe if his job is physical as opposed to a desk job, maybe that is why he cannot return to his work? The money end of things is never easy when you have to go on STD or LTD. Hope it goes as smoothly as possible.
Did anyone catch the crazy stuff Trump blurted out in the lobby of Trump Tower today?
The man is unhinged! It was supposed to be an Infrastructure announcement, he had Steve Mnuchin, Elaine Chao and I think that new General Kelly present.
As soon as he finished his opening remarks about their plan and asked " are there any questions ? " the script went out the window and his ranting began.
I won't detail it here as I am sure most of it was covered on Canadian news ( I watched it on CNN ) but this will be a mess to clean up, IF they ( the Republicans ) can even clean it up.
Again so very grateful I am not living in the good ole US of A
