Yeah that happened in a big way to my dad one day years ago. I was supposed to go to his place at 10am on the Saturday morning to help him with a big party. He called me at 10pm on the Friday night in a panic. Why aren't you here yet, you're supposed to help me with my party. I was like dad it's only Friday night don't worry I'll be there. No no no it's Saturday morning hurry up and get here. I said dad look outside if it were this dark at 10am the world is coming to an end lol.

Hahaha...well, like I've said before, for us retirees, EVERY day is Saturday!!😊 @walkonby , I hope your fur-kids are rompy and back to their usual selves again.
We have our Grandson with us today since the kids are in a charity curling tournament, so he and I will bake homemade dinner rolls for our shepherd's pie dinner shortly. This one's a super easy recipe. Later, my DH will take him bowling since we have those free-game Cheerios coupins from the box. He's so happy to be here, instead of the demolished home they're living in while construction is going on.🙄
Have a wonderful SATURDAY, everyone!!

Lynn- I love that little picture of the mousey asleep with it's little mousey slippers beside the bed! My step-son and his friends are now in Montreal having a whale of a time. He sent me a text to pass on to you, Lynn.
Tootie is SO happy to get out on walks-all those sniffs to be sniffed! I bought a 15' leash so she can do a little exploring without getting too far away. She is one determined girl when it comes to heading in a direction that she wants to go.
I certainly hope that Walks's doggies will be ok. I guess she'll let us know after they return from the vet.
My landlady sent me a text that my dear neighbour will be moving out starting at 7:30 am on Monday. He's a very nice fellow but I am glad he will be in a place where there are staff to check in on him. Wonder who will be moving in?
We'll, I had a restless night because something that I ate didn't want to be eaten, but I need to get moving and eat something nice and bland.
Enjoy the day that comes your way!

So true, @Natalka ....it has to be more a deep rust tone, not orangy-orange.
More like this, which is what we used in the kids' billiard room. It's gorgeous together!!

Hi Ladies and Gents! Back from the vets.
I feel a bit better....No broken bones as far as the vet can tell without an xray.
Seems both dogs leg issues are related to their own specific back pain ( Rufus ) and neck pain ( Murphy ). Hmmmm, I guess in a way like when I get sciatica, my leg has pain BUT it is my back that is the real issue.
So they are confined to absolute REST, No jumping up or down....( not like they wanted to anyway ) No stairs, no walks allowed. That may be tricky as the back yard has deck levels that they MUST climb down at least 1 step each way to do their business ?? Oh well, I'll cross that bridge later.
They are both on a liquid NSAID for inflammation. Has to be given with food, so vet suggested human food ( boiled lean chicken breast with rice ) for a few days. Rufus has not drank any water in 2 days, absolutely refused any offered to him, so vet suggested that we remove his cone of shame as it may be causing him anxiety.
As long as he does not scratch at his left eye that has the ulcer we are good to keeping the cone off. The eye drops have been so easy to put in with that cone on though....Rufus will probably be tougher to deal with when I need to give him his doses. This may become a 2 person job every 4 hrs....lol.
Thanks for all your sweet concerns and encouraging posts about my babies!! This is exhausting emotionally because I know they are both older and I am having to face reality soon as to their final days. ugh!! " Don't go there " I tell myself but I always end up doing it anyways.

Well I guess that's pretty good news @walkonby . At least no broken bones.
No one likes eye drops, they feel weird, but he should get use to them. I'd suggest you try with him laying down, less likely to run, and harder for him to turn his head. Good luck.
Re: your deck; when Jake pulled a muscle in his leg, he couldn't navigate the stairs, so I had to carry him down the various levels of the deck so he could use the yard. No walks for him as well.

@walkonby -I am happy to hear that a conservative approach will bring them some relief. Sounds like they are not going to be to inclined to want to run around right now, anyway. Huggles to all of you.

@walkonby so sorry to hear about your fur babies. I know how you are feeling . I am happy you get them to see the Vet today and nothing is broken. I am sure lots of rest and the meds would help them. Praying that the both get better soon. I guess you will have your exercise carrying them up and down. Have an awesome Saturday
