@Lynn49 your picture of the cherry blossoms reminds me of a really funny series that started in 2106 called Brain Dead ( I think they cancelled it after the one season....drat! ) but these alien bugs thrived on the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C and infected all the politicians by crawling in their ears! ha ha
Tony Shalhoub was in it, as I said it was quite funny!
The snow is falling here still for the moment but I just cannot see it sticking, accumulating or lasting. Hear that snow!!???
I said YOU WON'T LAST!!

Good morning, sleepyheads!
It's rare when I'm the first in the morning to post, but I just couldn't sleep. Just too much on my mind, it seemed.
So....a nice Donut Shop Keurig coffee and the morning news, all alone....even Jenny is still sleeping.
Have a wonderful,Saturday, everyone!

Omg. I'm just sobbing.....I just heard on CNN that there are 14 dead in the Jr hockey team bus crash in Saskatchewan. Omg, those young lives, and their families having to endure their immense grief. God bless them all.

Yes, a terrible accident. Not much news from there yet. Someone involved with the team said that the bus was t-boned by the transport truck, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

You know, @GoJays, I watch that show Heavy Rescue 401, and I don't know if it's by choice or what, but EVERY single one of those accidents involve semis!!! We drive that hwy now and then and I just cringe when I see them barrelling down the highway, passing other vehicles like maniacs! There should be a separate, LOWER, speed limit for those damn things...or should I say for some of those damn drivers!! There is no way they're capable of stopping if anything happens in front of them!
But that accident, clear highway as far as was reported...was it a case of a bleary-eyed semi driver crossing the lane?! I only hope he survived to live out his life knowing what he did, if in fact, that was the case.

Transport truck-related collisions continue to take a significant toll on human life on Ontario roads, with one in five road crashes involving large commercial vehicles.
"A lot can go wrong when large commercial transport trucks are not driven safely or have unsecured loads and defective equipment,” said Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) chief superintendent Chuck Cox. “Our data shows that the outcome for other vehicle occupants involved in transport truck-related collisions is often fatal and catastrophic.”
Among the 1,342 fatal motor vehicle collisions on OPP-patrolled roads between 2012 and 2016, 266 involved transport trucks. During the same five-year period, 330 people died — the majority of victims were occupants of other involved vehicles. According to OPP data, 44 of the crash victims were drivers of the transport trucks, compared to 286 victims who were in cars and other smaller vehicles.Last edited by Lynn49; Sat, Apr 7th, 2018 at 09:07 AM.

Ya, I watch that show also. Scary, how so many of them drive. The other one is Highway Thru Hell. That one takes place in BC, mostly on the Coquihalla Highway. So much scarier than the 400 highways in Ontario.

Tragic news indeed, about the jr. hockey team - so far they have named the coach as one of the deceased, more info to come later today.
I listened to the breaking news all evening, hearing it all was just awful. Such a horrific collision.
