A much cuter sweater story than the one I followed up on today. That pit bull named Scarface ( from Florida ) who had bit and attacked his owners because the woman had tried to put a Christmas sweater on him has been euthanized.

Walks, I'm such a complete mushball when it comes to dogs.....poor sweet dog, look at how precious it is in the other photo.....probably didn't understand what the hell she was doing to it!! Stupid people.

@Lynn49 ....you know regarding sweet Scarface, who is to say THAT is what actually happened? ( her trying to get him into a sweater ) The dog had no defense, no voice. I know pit bulls get the bad rap here, but I am just sayin.....we will never know unless she had it on video or something.

Yah. All we have is that scrag's story.
That's why I rarely go on the dog thread in pets...sad stories stay in my heart too long.....

I am fully anti-pitbull. They are the dog of choice for drug dealers and criminals. Who want to share that image as a pet owner?

And they are NOT used by police forces, because you can't train them at a high level. I think that says a lot about the breed. If their aggression actually had a use, they would be as popular as shepherds and malinois with the forces. However, the breed is known to be untrustworthy and under-trainable so the police stay away from them.

I'd be happy to see them banned from Canada.

Unbelievable that a short-haired dog would attack someone for getting a sweater put on. Most short-haired dogs are only too pleased to wear one.

When I volunteered at a shelter, I saw the crazy that can come of trying to put sweaters on dogs. I took the photos for pet pics with santa and while some dogs are happy to be dressed up, there were more than a few bites, growls, bared teeth and scratches at stupid owners who were putting sweaters and especially reindeer ears on their pets when they had never been dressed up before.

Some animals just don't like it, it feels constricted (and I imagine they don't make them for the shape of a pitbulls big chest). The majority of the ones who bit were midsize "friendly" breeds.

These are the people who love their pets enough to pay for a picture of them with santa too so not the idiots who train their animals to be aggressive.
