Wrt "wrong place wrong time"....ain't that the truth, though? I always think of that when I hear news stories about a tree falling on a random car on a stretch of road, or something similar...time to go, I guess. But scary, nonetheless...

Hello folks! @Lynn49 , the same thing wrt the post disappearing . I am still very sick. Have cancelled my birthday party for next Saturday and will cancel my trip to Denver, as well. Hope none of you get this bug!
@Natalka -have a wonderful evening with your family and then a smooth transition to the hospital tomorrow. I hope you will be able to keep in touch! Will be praying as you move along your journey back to health.
@walkonby I am very impressed at your progress and congratulate you on being monitored by the clinic. You have the determination to make this work and ensure your continued health.

@avoncallingu , strange, I almost called you today but then I thought if you're napping, I'll be waking you up which is never a good thing when you're not feeling well. So ... the flu? Bad cold? It must be horrible to cancel that Denver trip. Now what are you going go do with all the "fresh air" blowing through your house when your new windows are being installed? The cold sure wouldn't do you any good...
@Natalka , why are you nervous, Hon? This is a great step forward and this time YOU'RE in charge!! Yep, it'll probably include a lot of hard work with all the physiotherapy you'll be scheduled to do, but rather than nervous, how about damned 'determined'? We all have faith in your strength to get through this, and look forward to any reports you can provide for us from the hospital. Relax when you can, work when you have to and just vizualize how much more healthy and vital you're going to be come spring!! And think of your DH and Milan....not only how proud they'll be of your efforts, but how much pressure will be taken off them, caring for you as much as they lovingly have been. Gosh might we even dare to think that your Hubby will change his mind about his surgery when you're finally well again? ....SO much is going to change, Nat...!!! And we're all here rooting for you!!! A group rout!!
Touch base when you can....do you know what part of the day you're to head in?
Take good care of yourself......God bless, Hon!
See? All of us rooting for you.............

Oh, gosh, thanks again to you all.
So I have been talking with my son, who knows me so very well, and it's having to give up control which gets me nervy.
Yes, I know it's for good reason, of course...
Well, husband put supper together. He left me just to do the seasoning, and the oven will do the rest.
I did have a bit of a snooze this aft, so hoping I can sleep more at night. Last night was awful!
So the plan is, and like my Dr said we can't let on that this is a plan, to call for the ambo in the morn when I get my nerve up!
Once I get settled in somewhere, I will post here.
Have a good night, everyone.

Well, all will be the truth - that I had seen my Dr on Friday, that the weekend was just way too difficult and I can no longer cope - it's the not walking, so being isolated on the bed; the horrid pain in both legs - and, thus, not sleeping; the numbness and pain in my left arm, pain is worsening.
I also have had some trouble breathing, not bad, but that has just been the past few days.
I should be able to be admitted because more time spent in bed at home means conditions can only worsen - more rapid muscle loss, chance of pneumonia, swelling. Also because I need the multidisciplinary approach because of my varied problems, so that's access to testing, specialists, and therapies.
They also worry about the psychological effects of all this, concerned that it's easy to fall into depression.
Yes, the Dr has hospital privileges, they will keep in contact with her and send her all test results, etc. My care coordinator has a corresponding in-hospital coordinator in each hospital, as do the therapists, so they all share information - so once home, there is a care plan in place.

Forgot to add, one needs to be a patient in hospital to get the recommendation to transfer to the convalescent unit, to get on the waiting list. That's where I spent the last two months when I was in hospital before. Each of the hospitals has a full staff of physical therapists, though, so it's just that specialized unit is only at one of the three hospitals.
